This is a great opportunity to work in the Commercial Airplanes South Carolina Design Center, as a Structural Analysis Engineer.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nPerform stress analysis on Boeing 787 Aircraft Wing & Empennage structure using classical hand analysis methods, Finite Element tools/methods, and/or Dynamic Simulation tools/methods.\nReviews supplier documents in support of partner technical oversight including engineering drawings, analysis, test plans, procedures, and reports.\nDevelops, integrates and documents structural requirements to establish the Wing & Empennage designs.\nCoordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment such as load cases, interface architecture, and interface loads.\nGuides product design and verifies structural integrity throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.\nDevelops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.\nDefines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.\nSupports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.\nSupports the development of certification related documentation for CFR Part 25 Type Cert projects.\nCollaborates on projects with domestic and international partners/suppliers.\nActively supports the growth and development of a new engineering organization.\nWorks under general direction.\nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):\nBachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)\nAt least 2 years of experience working in relevant fields of the engineering industry\nAt least 1 year of experience performing structural analysis\nExperience performing structural analysis using classical hand calculation methods\nPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):\nExperience with basic coding/script writing with FEA tools\nExperience working projects with composite structures\nPrior experience with manufacturing/production\nPrior structural analysis experience on wing or empennage structures such as wing tips, wing box, wing center section, leading/trailing edges, horizontal stabilizer or vertical stabilizers.\nConflict of Interest: Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process\nDrug Free Workplace:\nBoeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.\nPay & Benefits:\nAt Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
