This chief engineering position sets the vision and implements the strategies for sound engineering practices and processes for all portfolio programs. Intelligence Systems is a portfolio of classified programs within Boeing Space, Intelligence & Weapon Systems.\nThe chief portfolio engineer will ensure all technical aspects of each program are executed properly including product definition, validation, software and systems engineering, design integration, test and evaluation, and certification for the Boeing team and all associated supplier work content. The portfolio Chief Engineer will also develop multi-disciplined skills, model-based tools, and standardized processes to deliver engineering for mission products through the lifecycle of the programs. The program chief engineers will also be direct reports to the Intelligence Systems Chief Engineer.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nProvides the Engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers\nDevelops statement of work (SOW) to satisfy research and development, ongoing and new business requirements\nCollaborates with program engineers and business development to identify new and follow on concepts that will expand product or services lines. Anticipates change and organizes processes and resources to proactively respond\nIdentifies performance metrics and ensures that work and project breakdown structure (WBS/PBS), schedule and resource loading is completed by the team.\nDevelops and communicates responsibility authority accountability (RAA) to define team members' roles and responsibilities\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams (software, hardware, verification, test, integration, product management) to ensure architectural coherence and timely delivery\nIncorporates lessons learned into strategic process improvements. Prepares and presents outcomes, assessments and corrective action initiatives to Boeing management\nCreate and maintain interface control documents (ICDs)\nDevelop and maintain system architecture artifacts that align with program objectives and stakeholder needs\nElicit, write, analyze, and manage system-level requirements throughout the development lifecycle\nProduce and maintain Concept of Operations (ConOps) documents capturing operational scenarios, use cases, and stakeholder roles\nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):\nBachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement\nThis position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with a current and active Full Scope polygraph\n9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience\n7+ years of experience with software development and/or Information Systems architecture design and operations\nKnowledge of and ability to lead key engineering boards and review processes.\nExperience with design trade studies, risk assessments, and technical decision-making; capturing rationale and outcomes\nExperience with Requirements Management best practices and traceability\nExperience with system integrated testing and Verification / Validation processes\nPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):\nExperience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams\nStrong Communication, Adaptability, Decision Making, Customer Focus, Integrated Systems, Engineering Analysis, and Requirements/Tracing skillset\nExperience designing and delivering Information Technology systems or products\nExperience in agile/sprint planning, reviews, and continuous improvement activities to support rapid development cadence\nConflict of Interest:\nSuccessful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process\nDrug Free Workplace:\nBoeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.\nPay & Benefits:\nAt Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
