Find your future with us.\nThe team: The Software Engineering and Systems Integration team in the UK is actively working across Boeing Defence, Commercial Airplanes, Global services and Uncrewed technologies. \nThe Software Engineering team works in the development of Synthetic Environment Sub-systems, Mission Systems Capability, Autonomous Behaviours, enhancement of Ground Control Systems, Technical Publications and various in-house proprietary tools for the Defence platforms. The team is also contributing to Commercial Modification of aircrafts, development of Onboard Network Systems, Cabin Interiors and supporting Supplemental Type Certification effort. \nThe Role:\nE-7 Mission Systems and Software Lead\nWe are seeking a Senior Software Engineer based in Bristol to support and grow the UK Mission Systems Capability, for sustainment of the UK E-7 Wedgetail programme within the defence portfolio.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nDefining capability requirements for development and sustainment of E-7 Aircraft Mission Segment (AMS) and Ground Support Segment (GSS) software components from the U.K. in collaboration with Boeing Defence Australia and Boeing Defence U.S. \nEstablishing Technical scope of work to be delivered from UK in collaboration with global teams. \nDefining the tools, methods, process and people needed to deliver the defined scope of work. \nWork closely on the above objectives with Boeing U.S. and Australia counterparts currently leading this scope of work, including international travel which may include time embedded in these teams supporting execution of live work scope in support of the above objectives. \nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):\nBachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science \n10+ years of Experience in Software Development ideally with RTCA DO-178(B/C/D) Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification, with emphasis on Embedded Software. \nC/C++ or Java \nSW design experience for Near-real time SW \nOS / driver integration experience desired \nComfortable working in LINUX / other unix’s \nExperience in failsafe design technics \nExperience with requirements and requirement breakdown \nTesting experience \nProduction SW release processes \nExcellent communicator, strong stakeholder relationship building and management. \nPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):\nHMI Experience \nExperience in AEWC SW design templates \nHiring details:\nThis requisition is for a locally hired position in Bristol, Fleet, or Frimley, UK. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll. \nThis position is expected to be hybrid with 3 days working from an office. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
