The team includes electrical, electronics, RF, mechanical, and power engineering expertise.\nAs the Hardware Engineering Manager, this leader will be responsible for employee development, team building, workforce planning, engineering execution, and continuous process improvement. The manager will partner with senior managers, senior engineers, program leadership, and cross-functional organizations to deliver high-quality test systems on schedule and within budget while improving first-time quality and reducing rework.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nLead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical, electronics, RF, mechanical, and power system engineers\nProvide technical direction and ensure disciplined execution of hardware development activities\nPlan staffing, assign work, and balance engineering resources across concurrent program efforts\nEstablish and maintain engineering processes, standards, and best practices\nSupport senior technical leaders and senior managers throughout the hardware development lifecycles, including:\nRequirements definition\nArchitecture and design\nModeling and analysis\nCircuit and board-level development\nRF and power system design\nPrototyping and integration\nVerification, validation, and qualification\nProduction transition and sustainment\n\nReview technical proposals, designs, analyses, test plans, and engineering documentation\nPromote robust design practices, including design for manufacturability, reliability, maintainability, safety, and testability\nCoordinate cross-functional technical decisions with systems, software, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and supply-chain organizations\nSupport hiring, workforce planning, performance management, and succession planning\nFoster a culture of engineering excellence, inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement\nCommunicate status, risks, opportunities, issues and recommendations clearly to senior leadership and program stakeholders\nEnsure compliance with applicable company procedures, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer commitments\nSuccess measures:\nStrong employee engagement, retention, and professional development\nMeasurable improvements in engineering processes, productivity, product/technical quality\nReduction in engineering rework and nonconformances\nMeasurable improvements in engineering processes, productivity, and product/technical quality and reduced rework\nSuccessful completion of design reviews, verification activities, and production transitions\nClear identification and mitigation of technical and program risks\nConsistent compliance with engineering processes, quality requirements, and customer expectations\nStrong stakeholder satisfaction and clear alignment between engineering outputs and business objectives\nBoeing First-Line Leader Assessment: To be considered for this position, you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required\nBachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement\nCandidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”\n3+ years of experience with radio frequency (RF), modems, wireless, and advanced communications systems\n3+ years of experience with bus and payload systems, power engineering, or Special Test Equipment (STEs)\n3+ years of experience working with test systems development projects for satellite or space-based communication programs\nExperience working cross-functionally with engineering, test, program office, and support organizations\nWilling and able to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally\nPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):\nActive U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).
