Be part of the team that connects rigorous technical design to the future of air travel.\nLead Engineer positions are available for the following teams:\nBuyer Furnished Equipment (BFE) Monuments\n\nEmergency Equipment\n\nExterior Markings/Livery\n\nGalleys\n\nIntegration\n\nLavatories\n\nLighting\n\nPosition Responsibilities:\nLead engineering direction and technical strategy for assigned Payloads team across requirements, development, certification, production, and post-production phases.\n\nProvide technical leadership and be the primary technical point of contact for customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.\n\nManages engineering work statement and execution, demonstrating technical excellence and first pass quality.\n\nEnsure design compliance with applicable regulations (FAA/EASA), Boeing and customer requirements\n\nDrive technical design reviews and lead configuration management activities, change control, and release processes in coordination with product and program teams.\n\nFoster culture of continuous improvement, lessons-learned capture, and team capability development.\n\nCoordinates with internal and external multi-disciplinary functions to support new design development, meet customer needs, and validate requirements.\n\nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):\nBachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)\n\n5+ years of relevant engineering experience, with demonstrated experience in design, integration, and certification in aerospace or closely related industries.\n\nDemonstrated experience working effectively with customers and suppliers\n\nExperience presenting to technical and non-technical audiences.\n\nPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):\nLevel 4: 9+ years of experience in engineering, including design, integration, and/or certification or equivalent combination of additional education and relevant experience.\n\nProven experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams and driving technical programs to delivery\n\nDeep working knowledge of FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent.\n\nPrior experience in commercial aircraft interiors, cargo systems, or avionics/lighting integration.\n\nExperience in program or project management: schedule development/execution, resource planning, cost estimation, and risk management.\n\nExperience with design for manufacturability/assembly and production readiness activities.\n\nTrack record of mentoring engineers and developing technical teams.\n\nFamiliarity with configuration management tools/processes, CAD tools, and systems engineering practices.\n\nExperience in customer-focused teams; strong systems and interface management; supplier management experience\n\nLean, Six Sigma, or equivalent continuous improvement certifications desirable.\n\nIf you meet these qualifications and are ready to step into a lead role shaping interiors and payload deliverables for the 787 program, we encourage you to apply.\nDrug Free Workplace:\nBoeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.\nPay Range Summary:\nAt Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
