Our team of around 60 people at the AIC work on innovative, cutting-edge technology development, from robotics and automation, to composite fabrication, and digital engineering. Our team of multi skilled engineers work together in our 100,000ft2 state of the art research facility at Prestwick International Airport in the West coast of Scotland, to develop manufacturing technologies that will help to build the next generation of aircraft.\nPosition Responsibilities\nAs a Research and Technology (R&T) intern you will be given a real-life industrial challenge to solve over the course of a three-month placement. Working on your own, or as part of a small team, you will be given the tools and support from a highly skilled R&T team to develop a solution that is both innovative and cost effective. The project will be split between the office and the workshop as you plan, develop, and deliver a working solution.\nKey tasks include:\nUnderstanding and defining requirements\nBudget and schedule planning\nLandscaping and down selecting solutions\nDesign, develop, and validate solutions through small scale prototypes and test\nBuilding relationships with stakeholders and team members\nReporting progress to key stakeholders and senior management\nSkills\nConfident and clear communicator\nProficient user of MS Office tools\nProactive approach to problem solving\nAble to manage your own time and workload\nKeen interest in aerospace manufacturing processes and digital technologies\nBasic Qualifications\nRight to work in UK - We do not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.\nPreferred qualifications:\nCandidates should be studying towards a BEng/MEng in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.\nRelocation:\nThis position does not offer relocation.
