In addition to working with System Safety personnel, the individual will work extensively with design, development, and test to incorporate robust safety features and reduce project safety risk.\nPrimary responsibilities:\nAnalyzes the integration of complex airplane systems and their corresponding airplane-level effects, failure indications, and flight crew actions as part of a system of systems analysis\nDocuments safety analyses, hazard mitigation, validation, and verification activities in compliance with relevant customer and regulatory safety standards such as MIL-STD-882E, MIL-HDBK-516C, AC-17-01, DO-178C, and DO-254.\nDemonstrates safety hazard risk mitigation and control methods to the customer and regulators\nIdentifies safety issue systemic root causes and recommends corrective actions using industry best practices\nCollaborates with internal and external stakeholders to define, validate, and integrate safety requirements\nParticipates in tests and analyses to verify that systems meet the defined safety requirements\nResolves multi-functional technical issues\n Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):\nBachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement\n14+ years of experience working in an engineering, engineering technology, or related technical discipline\nAbility to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship\nPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):\n3+ years of experience with the design and technical development of hardware, firmware or software for Military, Space, or Commercial airplane systems\n3+ years of experience in software verification & validation and safety analysis\n3+ years' experience general working level knowledge of tactical aircraft hydro-mechanical subsystems, and components, including at least one of the following areas of focus: flight controls, landing gear, ejection seats, fuel, hydraulics, power plant (engines & APU's), environmental controls\nDrug Free Workplace: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.\nPay & Benefits: At Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
