Find your future with us.\nThe Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the Systems Engineering team supporting software/firmware development located in Seal Beach and Huntington Beach, CA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Satellite Systems Engineering organization.\nOur team creates software tools and services for the world’s highest performing satellite/ground systems for USG and Commercial customers. We work with customers in the development of the next generation ground systems.\nThis is an opportunity to work in a rapid development environment using modern technology, architecture, and tools. Our team focuses on a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach. Candidates should have experience with all phases of Systems Engineering for FPGA/firmware and software systems, including creation and tracking of requirements, development of FPGA/firmware/software documentation covering architecture, algorithms and interfaces, management, and development of test and verification plans.\nThis senior position requires proven leadership and experience within the software ecosystem, a unique background of project experience, and the clear exhibition of superior judgment and decision making to engineer new solutions and capabilities. Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills are required!\nPosition Responsibilities:\nApply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.\nLeads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.\nLeads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.\nLeads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes.\nDevelop and maintain requirements, architecture, algorithms, interfaces, and design for high-performance software solutions.\nLeading software system design activities including Software Requirement Specification (SRS) development, Hardware and Software Interface Requirements Specification (IRS), and integrating completed software components into a fully functional software system through mission/system testing.\nSupport progress demonstration presentations to customer representatives and program/IPT leadership.\nSupport IPT by implementing a structured approach to defining and meeting a development and integration schedule alongside a rigorously managed cost baseline.\nThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed locations. The opportunity to work a hybrid schedule may be available, based on the candidate's background, experience, and business needs.\nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):\n This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.\nBachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement\n5+ years of experience with systems engineering for space systems and ground segments performing command, control, mission planning and data processing\n5+ years of experience in the Software Development lifecycle (including Requirements Analysis, Design, Code, Integration & Test)\n3+ years of experience leading systems engineering and/or software development projects\n3+ years of experience in writing software requirement specifications\nExperience working in an Agile software development environment and DevOps methodologies\nExperience with Software Requirements Specification development\nExperience with interface definition between multiple SW systems and between HW and SW\nExperience with various formal acceptance testing activities (e.g., Formal Qualification Test -FQT, Factory Acceptance Test - FAT, Site Acceptance Test - SAT)\nPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):\nActive U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).
