This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization.\nThe selected candidate will be part of a dynamic and cohesive management team in a large, cross-functional integrated product team (IPT) developing the modeling and simulation capabilities that enable the cutting-edge capabilities going on today and tomorrow’s combat aircraft developed by the Air Dominance Division of the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.\nThe ideal candidate will lead the Flight Simulation | Labs (FSL) F/A-18 Models software strategy and team of engineers developing frameworks and tools to support the larger FSL F/A-18 team, in an agile, collaborative environment. This team is responsible for creating and supporting the various subsystem models used by other FSL F/A-18 teams and F/A-18 Mission Systems teams. Additionally, you will serve as a business owner on the Flight Simulation | Labs F/A-18 Agile Release Train (ART).\nThe successful candidate will need to work as part of a cohesive leadership team. Adaptability, the ability to work closely with others, and an open mind are essential attributes of the management team members. Experience in leading teams is required, agile development experience and modeling and simulation or mission systems experience is preferred and highly beneficial.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nManage employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering\nDevelops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures, and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives\nAcquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements\nDevelops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and team members\nProvides guidance, oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes\nManages, develops and motivates employees\nBoeing First-Line Leader Assessment: To be considered for this position you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process.
