The team is a vital part of Boeing Global Technology, Europe.\nAbout The Role\nThe team is actively developing technologies that will enable reduced emission flight. As our research in this field expands, we are growing the Prestwick team based at our state-of-the-art research and technology development facility, the Aerospace Innovation Centre (AIC). The AIC showcases Boeing’s distinctive capabilities as a global center for design and digital manufacturing of current and future aircraft. Partnering with Universities, industry leaders, and the UK’s CATAPULT network the AIC is a focal point to collaborate, innovate, train and develop skills for today and tomorrow. Boeing is developing structures and systems technologies to enable our industries transition to net zero emissions.\nThis exciting opportunity requires candidates to work in an agile, diverse and fast paced environment developing cutting edge technologies for aerostructures and future fuels integration. The successful candidate will deliver expert structural analysis leadership and integrate across our design, R&D, systems, and test teams in a rapid design, build and test environment. R&D areas of focus include metallics, composites, future fuels storage and integration, digital factory & harnessing new developments in IT.\nPosition Responsibilities\nLead development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the design.\nCoordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.\nGuide product design and verify structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.\nLead development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.\nDefine and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.\nSupport in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements.\nDevelop analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort. Works under minimal direction.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences).\nNine or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.\nPreferred Qualifications\nHaving experience in aviation/aerospace industry is preferred\nThe Boeing benefits package goes above and beyond, focusing on your physical, emotional, financial, and social well-being.
