The individual selected for this position will serve as a Flight Test Engineer on a test team charged with integrating, testing, and evaluating state-of-the-art technologies. Primary responsibilities include test article preparation, configuration control, maintenance and inspections, test article modifications, test planning and execution support, real-time control room support, and test reporting associated with test programs for critical customer-directed technology maturation.\nNote: Primarily 1st shift. However, off-shift work and time away from home will be required on a regular basis.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nPrimary interface between maintenance and engineering personnel \nFormulate and communicate daily plans to ensure coordinated actions among test team personnel \nCoordinate and monitor preparation of test article configuration and instrumentation requirements required to perform tests \nAuthorize maintenance, inspection, and modification work performed on test article and ensure it is appropriately tracked and documented \nTrack and manage hardware and software configuration of test article \nConduct periodic test article inventory and maintain weight and balance with updated mass properties data \nBrief maintenance, inspection, and configuration status of test article prior to test events \nDevelop detailed test plans and conduct ground test events \nCoordinate requirements for special test equipment and support equipment \nImplement and enforce safety protocols during test procedures \nAssist test conductors during real-time test execution in control room environment \nPrepare and publish test reports \nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):\nBachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement\n1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.\nExperience in military aircraft test operations, flight test engineering operations and/or lab test engineering operations\nPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills \nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail \nAbility to effectively interface with personnel from engineering, manufacturing, and operations disciplines \nAbility to effectively partner with coworkers as well as personnel from government and industry \nSelf-starter with ability to implement general guidance and work independently \nPrior experience in the aerospace industry, ideally in a flight test environment \nExperience working in a shop, hangar, and/or ramp environment \nCapable of working in environments with ambiguous requirements, unique operational challenges, and limited oversight \nAbility to interpret schematics, diagrams, and other technical documentation for application to test planning and troubleshooting \nGeneral knowledge of typical aircraft subsystems including avionics and mission systems \nExperience preparing procedures for system checkouts and overseeing execution \nFamiliarity with aircraft maintenance and modification processes \nExperience with Boeing tactical aircraft test and evaluation processes and procedures \nStrong MS Office application skills (primarily MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access) \nConflict of Interest:\nSuccessful candidates for this job must satisfy Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.\nRelocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.\nDrug Free Workplace:\nBoeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.\nShift: This position is for 1st shift.\nPay& Benefits:\nAt Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
