This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll design the systems, set the technical direction, and stay close to the code, while leading a small, high-trust engineering team and growing it as Bokra scales.\nWhat You'll Do\n- Architect and design Bokra's platform, making the key technical decisions for a regulated financial product: reliability, security, scalability, and data integrity\n- Stay hands-on (about 60% of your time): reviewing and writing critical code, solving hard technical problems, and setting the engineering bar\n- Lead and develop the engineering team (1 tech lead, 2 frontend, 2 backend): hiring, mentoring, performance, and career growth (about 40% of your time)\n- Own delivery with Product, Design, and the Group Product Manager, turning priorities into clear technical plans and predictable releases\n- Drive engineering standards: code quality, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response\n- Build security, data privacy, and regulatory compliance into how the team works, as expected of an FRA-licensed platform\n- Plan for scale as Bokra launches new products and expands into new markets\n- Report on engineering health, delivery, and risk to leadership\nWhat We're Looking For\n- 8+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years in technical leadership (Head of Engineering, Engineering Manager, or Tech Lead managing a team)\n- Strong hands-on experience with Elixir is a huge plus\n- Proven fintech experience (payments, banking, investing, or other regulated financial products)\n- Demonstrated ability to architect and design systems end-to-end, not just implement them\n- Experience leading and growing a small engineering team, balancing coding with people management\n- Strong communicator, able to work across Product, Compliance, and Business teams\nNice to Have\n- Experience with high-security, compliance-heavy environments\n- Experience scaling a platform across multiple MENA/GCC markets\n- Familiarity with Sharia-compliant financial products or Islamic finance\n- Experience building and hiring engineering teams in a startup or
