Working alongside a multidisciplinary team (aerodynamics, structures, loads & dynamics, thermodynamics), you will help improve high-fidelity solver capabilities, scalable numerical methods, and reduced-order modelling workflows for next-generation aircraft development. This posting is for a temporary employee working on a full-time basis.\nWhat are your contributions to the team?\nDevelop and optimize CFD solvers for complex aircraft configurations.\nImplement numerical methods for the Navier-Stokes equations, including discretization, time integration, turbulence modelling, and solver acceleration.\nSupport high-order CFD methods for scale-resolving aerodynamic simulations.\nDevelop Reduced-Order Models for aeroelasticity, optimization, flight-control studies, and digital-twin applications.\nScale scientific codes on HPC platforms using MPI, OpenMP, and parallel programming best practices.\nMaintain software quality through CI/CD, regression testing, benchmarking, code reviews, and documentation.\nValidate CFD tools against wind-tunnel, flight-test, and reference data.\nHow to thrive in this role?\nYou hold a PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.\nYou have a strong background in CFD, compressible aerodynamics, Navier-Stokes solvers, and turbulence modelling.\nYou have experience developing scientific software in C++ and Python.\nYou have practical experience with Linux, HPC environments, MPI, and OpenMP.\nYou have knowledge of ROM techniques such as PCA, POD, PROM, and projection-based modelling.\nYou are familiar with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, benchmarking, and peer code reviews.\nYou are eligible to work with controlled aerospace data, including CGD and/or ITAR-restricted programmes.\nYou are fluent in both English and French.\nDesired Assets\nYou have experience with DG, Spectral Element, Flux Reconstruction, CPR, or other high-order CFD methods.\nYou have experience with GPU acceleration using CUDA, HIP, Kokkos, or similar technologies.\nYou have exposure to aeroelasticity, FSI, flight controls, optimization, or aircraft digital twins.\nYou have experience validating CFD simulations using wind-tunnel or flight-test data.\nNow that you can see yourself in this role, apply and join the Bombardier Team!\nPlease note: You don’t need all the skills, knowledge, and experience listed to apply for this position.
