While we operate today as a credit provider, our banking licence application means the Compliance team is already working with broader regulatory topics and supervisory expectations that will shape Bondora’s future operating model.\nYou’ll work closely with management and product teams, with real ownership of regulatory change, compliance risk management, policy development, and supervisory communication. This role is well-suited to someone who wants to move beyond formal compliance checks and help build practical, scalable compliance processes in a fast-moving fintech environment.\nWe’re looking for someone who can build repeatable AI-assisted compliance processes, while applying professional judgment to validate accuracy, legal soundness, and regulatory defensibility.\nYour main responsibilities:\nMonitoring regulatory developments and assessing their impact on Bondora’s products, processes, and controls.\nMaintaining and improving compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls.\nConducting compliance risk assessments, second-line monitoring, and follow-up on remediation actions.\nAdvising business, product, legal, and management teams on regulatory and compliance matters.\nPreparing compliance opinions, management updates, and practical recommendations.\nSupporting communication with supervisory authorities and coordinating regulatory responses.\nDeveloping compliance training and awareness materials for employees.\nThis role is in Estonia, and proficiency in Estonian is required. \nWhat would ensure success in this role?\nSuccess in this role is determined by analytical expertise, process oversight, and data accuracy management. The ideal candidate will have:\nA Master’s degree in Law or an equivalent legal or regulatory background.\nAt least 5 years of relevant experience in compliance, financial services, legal or regulatory advisory, internal control, or financial-sector supervision.\nStrong knowledge of Estonian and EU financial services regulation, ideally with experience in consumer credit, fintech, banking, or credit providers.\nAbility to interpret laws, supervisory guidance, and regulatory expectations and turn them into practical business requirements.\nHands-on experience drafting policies, procedures, compliance opinions, regulatory responses, and management-level summaries.\nStrong compliance risk assessment, monitoring, and control testing skills.\nStrong analytical skills, sound judgment, stakeholder management, prioritisation, and attention to detail.\nExcellent written and verbal Estonian and English.\nWhat can you expect at Bondora? \nContribute to Bondora’s ambitious goal of reaching 1BN in revenue.
