Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Mexico.\nWhat You'll Do:\nBonterra is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Collections Specialist to join our Collections team. As a Collections Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing accounts, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining positive customer relationships. Your primary duties include contacting delinquent US-based clients, negotiating payment plans, and documenting all interactions. You will engage with US-based customers via phone and email, primarily during US Central/Eastern business hours.\nKey Responsibilities:\nEngage US-based customers professionally and courteously to discuss overdue balances and facilitate timely payment resolution - communications conducted primarily in English\nInvestigate and resolve customer contract, billing, and payment inquiries\nExecute collections strategies in alignment with company policies and broader financial objectives\nPartner with internal teams to resolve account issues and implement preventative measures for future discrepancies\nAccurately document customer commitments, payment arrangements, and account activity for ongoing tracking\nProactively communicate account-level risks and insights to management to support informed decision-making\nGenerate and analyze collections reports to evaluate performance trends and progress against established targets\nWork collaboratively with team members to meet individual and departmental performance targets\nDemonstrate confidence and professionalism in outbound and inbound customer calls with US-based clients, conducted in English\nEffectively multitask and utilize time-blocking strategies to manage competing priorities efficiently, with scheduling aligned to US time zones\nWho You Are:\nAs a Collections Specialist, you have a strong sense of responsibility, you take pride in your ability to analyze outstanding customer balances, assess financial situations, and develop effective payment solutions. Your organization is evident through your documentation of every interaction, ensuring accurate records of collections activities. You are comfortable working independently in a remote environment and communicating fluently in English with US-based customers and colleagues.\nQualifications:\nProven experience as a Collections Specialist or in a similar role\nBilingual English/Spanish required; strong written and spoken English fluency essential for customer-facing communications with US-based clients\nStrong negotiation and communication skills\nExcellent organizational and time management abilities; must be able to maintain a schedule aligned to US Central or Eastern business hours\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team environment\nProficient in using collection software; experience with Salesforce, HighRadius and WorkDay Financials a plus\nReliable high-speed internet connection required\nCore working hours align with US Central or Eastern time zones - overlap of at least 6 hours with US business hours is required\nAt Bonterra, we’re building AI-powered tools to solve real human challenges-and we want teammates who share that enthusiasm.
