This person will also contribute to developing best practices, improving editing workflows, and helping systematise the studio's production processes.\nAs a Video Editor:\nYou are a creative and detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of visual storytelling, pacing, and audience engagement. You can independently manage editing projects from raw footage through to final delivery, exercise creative judgement, and translate producer feedback into polished outputs with minimal revisions.\nYou are highly proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, confident working with After Effects, and resourceful in using editing tools, templates, and AI solutions to improve efficiency without compromising creative quality. You take ownership of your work, communicate effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced creative environment.\nYour Responsibilities as a Video Editor would be:\nVideo Editing & Storytelling\nEdit raw footage into polished, engaging videos, including brand stories, charity films, corporate and product videos, event videos, and short-form social media content.\nLead the editing of emotional, story-driven projects, developing compelling narratives from interview footage and capturing the key messages and emotional moments of each story.\nReview and organise footage to identify the strongest content and build cohesive, engaging narratives.\nResearch each client's brand, website, target audience, and creative direction before commencing projects to ensure alignment with their identity and objectives.\nDeliver strong first cuts and incorporate producer feedback through to final approval and delivery.\nBring creative ideas to projects and recommend improvements to storytelling, pacing, structure, and content formats.\nCreative Production & Post-Production\nSelect and edit music, sound effects, graphics, and titles in line with the studio's creative standards and client brand guidelines.\nCreate motion graphics, animated titles, and visual effects using Adobe After Effects when required.\nPerform professional colour correction, colour grading, and audio mixing to ensure consistent output quality.\nExport and deliver final videos in the appropriate formats, resolutions, and aspect ratios for web, social media, and broadcast platforms.\nMaintain a strong sense of visual rhythm, pacing, music selection, sound quality, and overall presentation.\nWorkflow & Project Management\nManage editing projects independently, ensuring deadlines, quality standards, and client requirements are consistently met.\nMaintain organised project files, footage, and creative assets within the team's cloud storage and ensure appropriate file management and backups.\nUse AI tools, editing plugins, and template libraries such as Mister Horse where appropriate to streamline editing processes and improve turnaround times.\nIdentify opportunities to improve editing workflows, establish best practices, and help systematise the studio's production processes.\nMaintain awareness of project progress, timelines, and potential blockers, communicating these clearly to producers.\nTeam Collaboration & Continuous Improvement\nWork closely with producers and the in-house editing team to deliver projects that meet creative expectations and production requirements.\nProvide editing support to the team, particularly during busy production periods and team leave.\nShare editing knowledge, techniques, and best practices with other editors to maintain consistent quality standards.\nKeep up to date with emerging editing trends, techniques, software updates, and new Adobe Premiere Pro features.\nTake ownership of assigned projects while remaining flexible and collaborative when supporting wider studio requirements.\nQualifications & Requirements\nBachelor's degree in Film, Multimedia Arts, Communications, or a related discipline is strongly preferred.\nMinimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Video Editor, ideally within a video production company or creative agency.\nExperience working with Australian companies or Australian clients is strongly preferred.\nExpert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro is required.\nStrong working knowledge of Adobe After Effects for motion graphics, titles, and animation.\nA polished portfolio or showreel demonstrating storytelling capabilities across documentary-style films, brand stories, corporate videos, and social content.\nProven experience editing interview-led content and developing emotionally engaging narratives.\nStrong understanding of video pacing, music selection, sound design, colour correction, colour grading, and visual composition.\nDemonstrated ability to produce high-quality first cuts and complete revisions efficiently with minimal supervision.\nExperience working with health, not-for-profit, or charity organisations is an advantage.\nFamiliarity with editing template libraries such as Mister Horse and practical knowledge of AI tools that improve editing efficiency.\nExcellent English communication skills, with the ability to understand creative briefs, receive feedback, and implement revisions promptly.\nStrong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.\nAbility to work
