Based in Nottingham, this role will lead engineering and automation projects across the UK, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.\nReporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, you'll coordinate complex, high-value automation projects-often involving Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS)-and work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, from internal teams and suppliers to clients and contractors.\nKey responsibilities\nLead end-to-end project delivery, from design through to installation, commissioning, and handover.\n\nManage multiple automation projects simultaneously, ensuring compliance with scope, budget, and timescales.\n\nDeliver projects safely and efficiently within live operational environments, minimising disruption to client operations.\n\nWork closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution.\n\nDevelop project plans, risk assessments, and budgets in line with company procedures.\n\nEnsure all work complies with relevant CDM regulations, health & safety standards, and company policies.\n\nCoordinate on-site activities and oversee installation teams, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.\n\nPrepare project documentation, progress reports, and financial updates.\n\n What you'll need to have (our must-haves)\nProven experience in project leadership within an automation or engineering environment.\n\nExperience delivering complex engineering projects in live operational environments.\n\nStrong understanding of automated materials handling systems; ASRS experience highly advantageous.\n\nExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills.\n\nDemonstrated ability to manage tight deadlines and complex budgets.\n\nWorking knowledge of CDM regulations and possession of SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) desirable.\n\nPRINCE2 or other formal project management qualification advantageous.\n\nLOLER awareness\n\nAn appreciation for automation utilities\n\nWillingness to travel nationally, including overnight stays.\n\nFull UK driving licence.\n\nIt would be great if you also have\nStakeholder Management Skills\nRewards designed for you\nBoots Retirement Savings Plan\n\nDiscretionary annual bonus\n\nGenerous employee discounts\n\nEnhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave pay and gift card for anyone expecting or adopting a child\n\nFlexible benefits scheme including option to buy additional holiday, discounted gym membership, life assurance, activity passes and much more.\n\nAccess to free, 24/7 counselling and support through TELUS Health, our Employee Assistance Programme.\n\nThere's lots more in our benefits and discounts, MyBoosts - there to give you that little lift in your everyday.
