The role will involve working on a variety of automated systems, including pallet and tote box cranes, lifts, transfer cars, and conveyor networks, ensuring all equipment operates at optimal efficiency.\n Key responsibilities\nAs a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be a key player in our 7-man team, providing engineering support across multiple interconnected automated logistics facilities. Your responsibilities will include:\nPlanned Preventative Maintenance & Repairs: Ensuring all materials handling equipment and facilities are maintained, repaired, and continuously improved to meet availability expectations.\nSelf-Management: You will work largely unsupervised, prioritising tasks effectively and ensuring that customer requirements are met in an efficient, high-quality manner.\nCollaboration: Work closely with the Engineering Management, Improvement Engineers, first-line fix managers, the Control Room, and Operational teams to maintain seamless operations.\nContinuous Improvement: Raise Continuous Improvement (CI) programs to enhance equipment performance and overall warehouse efficiency.\nCompliance & Safety: Upholding world-class standards in security, health and safety, regulatory compliance, and housekeeping.\nReporting: Ensure accurate shift/breakdown reports are completed, contributing to ongoing improvements in our engineering services.\nWhat you'll need to have\nQualifications: A time-served apprenticeship with a minimum Level 3 qualification in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, along with at least a Level 2 qualification in the other.\nExperience: experience in a similar electro-mechanical engineering field.\nSkills & Abilities:\nStrong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.\nAbility to work at height.\nA 'Right First Time' approach to all tasks, ensuring efficiency and high-quality work.\nMotivation to lead and motivate others within the team.\nInnovation: A desire to promote innovation and continuous improvement across all working areas.\nIt would be great if you also have\nThese are desirable experience and are not essential, so we would welcome applications from candidates that don't match this additional criteria.\nExperience with automation systems.\nKnowledge of risk assessments and maintenance planning.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office or similar tools.\nOur benefits\nBoots Retirement Savings Plan\nDiscretionary annual bonus\nGenerous employee discounts\nEnhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave pay and gift card for anyone expecting or adopting a child\nFlexible benefits scheme including option to buy additional holiday, discounted gym membership, life assurance, activity passes and much more.\nAccess to free, 24/7 counselling and support through TELUS Health, our Employee Assistance Programme.\nWe have a great range of benefits in addition to the above that offer flexibility to suit you - find out more at boots.jobs/rewards.
