This role is responsible for defining the target architecture, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and guiding the implementation of HR platform modules such as Core HR, Talent, Payroll, Absence, Recruitment, and Learning. The architect will act as the primary design authority, partnering with HR, IT, and implementation partners to deliver a scalable, secure, and future-proof solution.\nAs the accountable Solution Architect, they are involved in the full project lifecycle and will ensure that the solution developed is true to the agreed design and/or will manage changes to the design. They will assist the Portfolio Technical Lead and Project Manager to resolve technical issues. Work with Enterprise Architecture to understand Strategy and Roadmaps to identify and deliver appropriate solutions.\nKey responsibilities:\nOwn the overall HR platform architecture, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and transformation goals.\nTranslate business requirements into robust, integrated, and compliant solution designs.\nLead the creation of end-to-end process flows, data models, and security frameworks.\nDefine configuration standards, design principles, and architectural guardrails for the project.\nAct as the primary design authority, collaborating with HR, IT, and implementation partners.\nEnsure that the solution developed is true to the agreed design throughout the project lifecycle.\nImpact assess proposed design changes throughout the delivery life cycle to ensure that the objectives and requirements of the project are still met.\nOversee API usage, middleware patterns, and data exchange protocols.\nEnsure compliance with security, GDPR, and organisational data governance policies.\nAdvise on testing of non-functional, operational and technical requirements, review results and assist with analysing and resolving defects where required.\nAssist the Project Manager and Technical Lead to resolve technical issues arising on the project promptly to keep the project on track.\nManage relationships with the vendor, SI partners, and third-party vendors.\nWhat you'll need to have (our must-haves):\nProven experience in delivering large HR Transformations across geographies in a Solution Architect or Lead Consultant Role.\nStrong understanding of HR platform data models, integrations, reporting tools, workflows and approvals and data migration tools/methodologies.\nProven experience defining target operating models, solution blueprints, and integration architectures.\nStrong understanding of cloud architecture principles and SaaS implementation best practices.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to influence senior leaders and drive consensus in fast-paced environments.\nIt would be great if you also have:\nBackground in HR process optimisation or HR technology strategy.\nFamiliarity with Agile delivery methodologies.\nWhere your brilliance can take you:\nAt Boots, your career as a Solution Architect - HR can lead to exciting opportunities in senior leadership roles within our technology team.
