Hardware Systems Administrator

We’re looking for a system administrator with deep expertise in Linux systems, container orchestration with tools such as Kubernetes, and automation with tools such as Ansible. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between complex technical execution and client-facing communication.

As a system administrator on our project, you’ll manage and optimize our infrastructure and be responsible for the architecture, security, and performance of our systems and containerized environments. You’ll provide your customers insight into their network through monitoring and performance management.

Your system administrator expertise will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network. You’ll help your team better understand the network by turning metrics into information and explaining their meaning.

This is an opportunity to broaden your skill set into areas like automation logic, cluster management, workload management, and CI/CD integration. We focus on growing as a team, so you’ll share your expertise through leadership and mentoring as you help the team work through challenges and develop new methodologies. You Have:

• 7+ years of experiencein Linux administration

• Experiencewith automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform

• Experiencewith containers such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Podman

• Experiencewith SELinux and FApolicyd, STIG hardening, Identity Management (IdM), LDAP, and managing secrets and certificates

• Knowledge ofIT networking and security concepts

• Ability totranslate complex technical requirements into solutions for clients and engineers

• TS/SCI clearancewith a polygraph

• Bachelor’s degree

• Ability to obtain a DoD 8140 certification, such as Security+, CASP, CISSP, CCSP, CCNA, or GCSA, within 6 months of start date

Nice If You Have:

• Experiencein administration of RHEL

• Experiencedeploying and managing production Kubernetes clusters such as OpenShift, EKS, or RKE

• Experiencewith Helm charts, Kustomize, and managing persistent container storage interface (CSI)and container networking interface (CNI)

• Experienceintegrating IaC and Ansible into pipelines such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions

• Knowledge ofIP tables and NFTables, DNS, load balancing, HAProxy, Nginx, and namespace

• Ability touse troubleshooting tools such as ss, netstat, tcpdump, traceroute, and ping to isolate network problems

• Ability toconduct performance tuning, kernel patching, and debugging as well as optimizing Linux kernels for container workloads such as tweaking sysctl for K8s

• Master’s degreein Computer Science, Engineering, or a STEM field

• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)or Linux Foundation Certified Engineer (LFCE)Certification

Clearance:
