Systems Integration and Test Engineer

The Opportunity:

We’re seeking a hands-on Systems Integration & Test Engineer to support a government customer across a hardware-intensive, mission-focused environment. This role centers on testing, validating, documenting, and supporting software integrated with a complex system involving sensors, effectors, network equipment, communication radios, and edge computing devices. You will work directly with mission users and developers to ensure the system performs reliably in operational contexts. This position is located in Fort Belvoir, VA.

What You’ll Work On:

  • Perform functional system testing, end-to-end integration testing, regression testing, and fault-tolerance testing using real hardware components.
  • Operate and understand sensors, effectors, radios, network gear, and edge computing systems to validate behavior of integration-level software.
  • Execute tests for software including AI/ML-enabled features.
  • Produce highly structured, clear, repeatable documentation, including test plans, procedures, results, discrepancies, and system behavior notes.
  • Write and maintain technical documentation supporting developers and mission partners.
  • Assist software teams with general documentation and content development needs.
  • Use modern DevSecOps tools such as GitLab, Jira, or CI pipelines.
  • File high-quality bug reports and submit merge requests (MRs) when appropriate.
  • Perform limited MR reviews for correctness and completeness.
  • Work closely with developers, MBSE modelers, field service representatives, and mission users to reproduce issues and validate fixes.
  • Work independently onsite with the government client, proactively identifying issues and communicating status.
  • Coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical insights in clear, user-friendly language.

Join us. The world can’t wait.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience testing hardware-software integrated systems
  • Experience with DevSecOps tools such as GitLab, Jira, or CI pipelines
  • Knowledge of Go, Python, or Java and Merge Request (MR) contributions and simple reviews for minor fixes
  • Ability to produce clear, precise, and detailed artifacts
  • Ability to operate and understand system-level components, including sensors, radios, networks, or embedded systems
  • Ability to work independently and interface professionally with developers, users, and the government client
  • Ability to be a self-starter and learn systems quickly
  • Ability to travel in support of field events or mission activities up to 20% of the time
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience supporting cybersecurity ATO compliance by performing comprehensive testing on a hardened system and validating STIG adherence
  • Experience supporting MBSE teams or interacting with SysML-based models
  • Experience with Go, Python, or Java
  • Experience in government environments or mixed hardware-software test labs
  • Knowledge of AI/ML system behavior, model output validation, or integration testing
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent technical degree

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
