Start your future with BorgWarner now!\nJob purpose\nThis position is responsible for create, develop, or adapt product design concepts based on internal standards, calculations, trials, measurements, functionality tests, CAE simulations (FEM, CFD, etc.), and process methodologies, while taking customer requirements into account.\nLocation\nViana do Castelo TTT plant, Portugal\nKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:\nLeader of the design team for the definition of a specific product.\nCreates, develops or adapts product design concepts based on internal standards, calculations, trials, measurements, bench tests, CAE simulations and process methods in conjunction inputs from customers.\nChecks and releases 2D drawings and 3D models within the associated project or existing products under serial production.\nEstablishes interface with customers for product and specification definitions. Participates in the validation plan definition throughout the product development process, establishing the interface with customers product validation phase.\nResponsible for presenting product test results through the internal and external project customers.\nLeads the D-FMEA release and establishes the product special characteristics SC/CC definition.\nCoordinates the planning and production of Prototype Samples.\nCreates and participates in the release of the Prototype Control Plan.\nCan coordinate prototype production cost calculation.\nMust execute Eng. tasks under the established Program time frame\nCan coordinate the Project Development and Project team up to industrialization Kick off.\nCreates or participates on product engineering standards releases.\nDefines the product special characteristics for individual components.\nPrepares tolerance stack-up studies.\nWill require materials selection, standards use and tolerance definition for casted, molded, bended or stamped parts.\nWill require knowledge in electronic hardware components to discuss or ask for alternatives by PCBA suppliers in conjunction with required functionalities.\nWill require a basic understanding in programming of required software applications.\nTechnically assists the Production Plants within the scope of the products under serial production, for any required change due to product design correction, upgrade, or cost reduction.\nAbility to demonstrate a high knowledge in failure mode analysis.\nAbility to find applicable software solutions for the customer.\nDemonstrates knowledge and responsibility for the performance of the quality system and standards.\nEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE\nMaster’s Degree in Electronics or Mechatronic Engineering / electronic background.\nEffective presentation skills and ability to respond to questions from management and/or customers.\nKnowledge in CAN, LIN communication and OBD requirements, measurement devices as CANoe/ CANape/ INCA, in requirement management systems as DOORS/IRQA highly desired \nUnderstanding of manufacturing processes and their influences of electronic behavior and failure mode.\nGood English language skills (spoken and written); other languages a plus.\nProficiency level Portuguese (spoken and written).\nDocument management system, ANSYS, MATLAB, 5S techniques knowledge desired.\nAbility to carry out multiple tasks simultaneously without supervision.\n-Internal Use Only: SalaryGlobal Terms of Use and Privacy Statement\nCarefully read the BorgWarner Privacy Policy before using this website.
