Design FMEA facilitation will occur throughout the BorgWarner Product Development Process. A single design-FMEA facilitator will lead multiple program Design FMEAs within a region. The facilitator will be leading multiple meetings each day to ensure steady and useful communication across system and subsystem teams (eMotor, Power Electronics, Gearbox, etc.). The facilitator will be expected to lead and actively participate in meetings. Additionally, the Facilitator will lead customer-related FMEA reviews as needed.\nKEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nOrganize, prepare for, and lead multiple engineering teams per program to establish and develop system and subsystem Design-FMEAs(x1) System + (x3) Sub-system for larger complex programs\n(x1) System/Subsystem for simpler programs\n\nPLATO e1ns FMEA software administrator role and proficient user of PLATO e1ns to guide teams utilizing the software\nEducate engineers in the proper deployment of the AIAG-VDA FMEA method, AIAG 4th, or VDA FMEA methods\nCascade FMEA information from Requirements à Design FMEA/Prints à PFD/Process FMEA à Control Plan à Work Instructions\nInterface with Customer technical leads to identify important interfaces, FMEA requirements, and FMEA progress\nInterface with Supplier technical leads to improve product weaknesses or FMEA requirements on the component level\nAdhere to BorgWarner’s Design FMEA procedure and update procedure as continual improvement activities\nShow engineering teams how to apply FMEA tools (Boundary diagrams (interface/functional), Parameter Diagrams, Structure diagrams, Function Trees/Nets, Failure Trees/Nets)\nManage Design-FMEA KPIs\nInterface with the FSM (Function Safety Manager) and the FSE (Functional Safety Engineer) to ensure that the FMEAs are linked with the FMEDA (Failure Mode Effects Diagnostics Analysis) and that the methods and principles of ISO 26262 are incorporated into the design-FMEA.\nInterface with Manufacturing by linking the DFMEA with the PFMEACascading design Failure Modes to process FMEA Effects\nCascade the Special Characteristics throughout all FMEA documents\n\nLead FMEA management reviews\nLead customer FMEA reviews.
