If your qualifications align with the majority of those outlined in this job description, we encourage you to apply and share your experience and skills with us.\nJob Purpose\nBorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as an Electric Machine Design Engineering Intern in our Summer Internship Program.\nThe Electric Machine Design Engineering Intern will work with the Electric Machine Design team to develop new analysis methods, support active engineering projects, and contribute to the design, analysis, and optimization of electric machines for real-world automotive applications.\nKey Responsibilities\nProvide electric machine design and analysis of\nIPM machines\nInduction machines\nWound rotor synchronous machines\nNew Electric Machine Products\nGenerate and prove out new concepts in core product areas (machines, control, cooling)\nDevelop and utilize multi-physics design optimization tools\nProvide inverter/machine system co-simulation\nDevelop magnetic equivalent circuit design/analysis tools\nPerform above responsibilities using:\nMaxwell 2D & 3D (Magnetic FEA)\nMotorCAD\nMatlab/Simulink\nDevelopment of electric machine analysis methods into custom tools\nSupport active projects and new business opportunities\nExplore AI opportunities for electric machine design and analysis\nSupport custom analysis tool development and maintenance\nWhat We Are Looking For\nCurrently enrolled in an accredited college, university pursuing post-graduate studies\nGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or B average, upon initial hire date\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required; MSME degree preferred\nEducational specialization in Electric Machine Design and analysis preferred\nProficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required\nProficiency in electromagnetic FEA solvers preferred\nANSYS MotorCAD experience preferred\nANSYS Maxwell experience preferred\nProficiency in MatLab/Simulink experience preferred\nProficiency in Python experience preferred\nExcellent people skills and history of teamwork required\nExcellent oral and written communication skills required\nKnowledge of common electric motor materials and coolants preferred\nDesire to work in the automotive industry preferred\nAbility to solve problems efficiently and effectively\nAnalytical, technical, and statistical skills\nGood knowledge base of engineering theories\nWhat We Believe\nInclusion - We value diversity in people, ideas, and experiences\nIntegrity - We believe in transparency, authenticity, and depend on each other to deliver what we promise\nExcellence - We contribute to our developments by seeking knowledge and sharing information\nResponsibility - We care about our local communities and the global environment\nCollaboration - We are one BorgWarner\nVisa Sponsorship\nBorgWarner does provide sponsorship for employment visa status based on business need.
