This role is responsible for leading the system development and release of software for customer applications. This role includes translating customer and application requirements into robust system designs, managing software releases to own plan, and ensuring successful product integration and launch into manufacturing.\nThe position is highly collaborative and operationally focus, requiring close interaction with suppliers, manufacturing plants, and application engineering teams. This product development role plays a key part in supporting the full product lifecycle for our commercial vehicle customers, from development and launch through production and sustaining activities.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead system integration and release for projects during development and through launch. \nDevelop and maintain detailed engineering timing plans, tracking progress across design, testing, and validation. \nCollaborate with application engineering teams to gather customer and external requirements \nDefine and manage internal system requirements and ensure traceability and compliance through production \nDefine system and software release scope, content, and timing with global stakeholders \nLead cross-functional software release activities and support system calibration and integration \nSupport manufacturing sites during product launch and ramp-up (e.g., Dixon, Torreon) \nProvide 8D and root cause analysis support for system and software issues \nServe as subject matter expert in Simulink modelling and CAN communication \nProvide hands-on support for debugging, reflashing, and communication-related issues \nRun performance and validation testing for system and mechanical durability \nWhat we are looking for\nRequired\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, System Engineering, or similar \n5+ years of experience in system engineering, embedded systems, or automotive electronics \nFamiliarity with embedded hardware and/or software development, automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, SPI, UART), and MCU architectures \nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using system evaluation techniques and structured root-cause analysis \nHands-on proficiency with lab equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, loads, soldering tools) and technical documentation creation \nExperience with systems and software development process including requirements management and documentation \nVery good written and spoken English \nPreferred\nMaster’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering \nExperience in automotive electronics product development including design of PCBA and motor control architecture \nPractical experience with ASPICE, functional safety, and cybersecurity. \nKnowledge of automotive safety analysis tools and standards, including ISO 26262, ISO 21434:2021, DFMEA, TARA, FMEDA, and FTA. \nExperience with CANoe, CANalyzer, or similar tools \nSpanish language proficiency\n:Engineering Design, Project Schedule Management, Review and Reporting, Stakeholder Expectation Management, Validate RequirementsSalary Range:\n$88,800 - $124,875Internal Use Only: SalaryGlobal Terms of Use and Privacy Statement\nCarefully read the BorgWarner Privacy Policy before using this website.
