Start your future with BorgWarner now!\nJob purpose\nBorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently seeking a Finance Intern to join our PowerDrive System business unit team. The intern will support the Finance team with financial analysis, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for a student with a good foundation in finance or accounting who is eager to leverage AI-driven tools, data analytics, and automation to improve financial insights, efficiency, and decision-making. The intern will gain hands-on experience in a global manufacturing environment, supporting activities such as month-end close, forecasting, dashboards, cost analysis, and ad-hoc management reporting, while applying AI tools to streamline and enhance finance processes.\nKey responsibilities\nUtilize AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT style tools, Power BI AI features) to: Automate data preparation and recurring analysis, generate insights and explanations for financial trends and Improve efficiency in reporting and documentation \nSupport enhancement of Power BI dashboards, Excel models, and analytical templates. \nIdentify opportunities for process automation or standardization using AI and digital tools \nAssist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis. \nIntegrates data from multiple data sources into relevant reports \nUse SAP to prepare monthly intercompany AR confirmations and send to each reporting unit \nReconcile GL balances in SAP and OneStream monthly \nReconcile journal entries in journal entry tracker to entries posted in SAP \nPrepare monthly account reconciliations for prepaid assets, accrued liabilities, and intercompany receivable/payables \nCollaborate with cross functional teams (Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering) on data-driven initiatives \nWhat we’re looking for\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, IF statements, PivotTables) and comfort working with large datasets to compare results and research variances. \nStrong quantitative aptitude and attention to detail, with an interest in checking data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency. \nAnalytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment (with guidance and support). \nProactive mindset and willingness to learn; able to identify improvement ideas and support small process or reporting enhancements under supervision. \nClear written and verbal communication skills. \nInterest in AI-assisted analysis and automation (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) and willingness to learn prompt basics, evaluation, and documentation of AI-assisted workflows. \nExposure to or interest in creating AI agents and automations (e.g., Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Power Apps, or similar) to streamline recurring finance tasks is a plus. \nUnderstands the importance of data privacy and responsible AI use when working with financial information (e.g., using approved tools, protecting confidential data). \nCoursework or interest in data analytics, business intelligence, machine learning, or finance transformation is a plus. \nWhat we believe\nInclusion -We value diversity in people, ideas, and experiences. \nIntegrity - We believe in transparency, authenticity, and depend on each other to deliver what we promise. \n Excellence - We contribute to our developments by seeking knowledge and sharing information. \n Responsibility - We care about our local communities and the global environment. \nCollaboration - We are one BorgWarner. \nSafety\nThis position will adhere to Global Star Safety Program, including safety rules, practices and training as outlined in the BorgWarner PTC Safety Policy Manual, which includes the use of equipment, protective devices, or clothing that the employer requires.
