Responsibilities will also include conducting Supplier Quality training at the suppliers and driving performance improvements to meet established objectives.KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nImplement the BorgWarner Supplier Development Process at assigned suppliers\nSupport both regional and global needs in screening suppliers, program launch requirements (APQP), and series delivery under the direction of the Global Supplier Development Director and as determined necessary by BU and RU requirements\nDevelop and maintain Quality System expectations including update and control of suppliers’ conformance to IATF 16949, as required\nConduct regular audits and special surveys at suppliers’ facilities evaluating manufacturing processes to determine adequacy and capability and ability to comply with all Quality Specifications\nLead APQP process as part of New Product Introduction\nDrive performance improvements to the established objectives at suppliers and prepare relevant periodic reports\nDevelop and implement Quality initiatives to improve cost, reduce PPMs, assist in resolution for CPMs, and improve 8D response times\nReview Quality problems with Engineering personnel and coordinate cross functional technical problem resolution at supplier\nIf necessary, apply Escalation Management process together with BU and RU representatives from Purchasing and Supplier Quality\nProvide and train standards for Supplier Quality and Continuous Improvement activities at the supply base, applying established procedures, lessons learned and best practices\nAnalyze suppliers’ and sub-suppliers’ capacities and drive improvements when necessary to meet the needs of BW production requirements\nVisit potential new suppliers to assess their Quality Systems and production capabilities\nProvide input to Commodity Strategy\nMaintain and report summary status of suppliers with the supply base relative to Delivery, Capacity, Capability, Quality, and other criteria required to properly assess the ongoing capability of the supply base\nSupport Technical Change Management (CM) in case of regional/global changes\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Person must require minimal management input to achieve objectives.\nEDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:\nUniversity degree (Bachelor or Master) in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering or equivalent education or experience\nAt least 5 years of experience in Quality, SCM, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, or related discipline in a Manufacturing Environment\nExperience in some of the relevant production processes and technologies such as metal forming, stamping and fine blanking, casting and/or precision machining and assembly processes. Experience with PCBA / PCB or electronic components, or Motors would be a plus.\nAbility to interpret drawings and requirements for ensuring the adherence to agreed quality parameters\nExpertise in Quality Management System requirements and Quality Core Tools such as APQP, FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, Statistics, Problem Solving, SPC, Initial Sampling Process, Run@Rate\nExperience of Product and Process Audit\nAbility to apply and train suppliers in Problem Solving and Process Capability Tools\nPreferred:\nC.Q.E.
