Our strong operations and commercialization expertise result in high volume availability of competitive, efficient products that truly drive change.\nBorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as Plant & Customer Quality Engineer at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.\nKey Accountabilities:\nPlant Quality\nSupport the introduction of new products and processes, ensuring compliance with customer requirements.\nLead problem solving activities for internal and external quality issues (8D, Ishikawa, 5Whys) ensuring effective resolution.\nKeep production quality KPI’s updated (PPM, Scrap, FTQ, RPPM, Block stock, Quality Claims).\nWork with production and manufacturing Teams in identifying route causes and implementing corrective actions.\nActively participate in continuous improvement projects, identifying opportunities to reduce defects and increase efficiency.\nTrain and support production Teams on quality best practices and problem-solving methodologies.\nEnsure PDT (temporary deviations) are in place for each product or process deviation.\nPlan and analyse statistical process data to ensure the stability of manufacturing process.\nDefine and validate control plans to ensure product quality is according to the customer requirement.\nCustomer Quality\nResponsible for PPAP documentation and responsible for annual project requalification.\nParticipate in customer meetings and plant visits related to quality issues acting as the main point of contact.\nMonitor and analyse quality indicators such as PPM, RPPM, Scrap, and FTQ to ensure products meet defined quality standards.\nOther Responsibilities\nComply with safety, quality, productivity, hygiene and environmental prevention standards \nComply with the organization's rules and internal regulations: Code of Ethics, Practice and Schedule \nRespect workplace safety and cleanliness rules \nRespect and comply with environmental policy rules \nPerform other duties and tasks on assigned special projects and assignments not included in the activity for which was hired, when the needs or convenience of the service justify it, for the period necessary for the said needs or conveniences of service.\nEducation\nAcademic BackgroundDegree in Engineering\n\n Professional ExperienceTwo or more years of experience as Plant Quality Engineer and/or Customer Quality Engineer (in automotive industry is a plus)\n\n Hard/Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of problem-solving tools (8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP).\nIATF 16949 qualification (is a plus)\nFamiliarity with industry standards (VDA 6.3, ISO 9001)\nAbility to read and interpret Technical drawing\nExperience in working with customers to resolve quality concerns and improve product performance.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving mindset.\nFluent in English\nFluent in Portuguese\n\nSoft SkillsExcellent communication and customer management skills.\nAbility to work autonomously and drive improvements proactively.\nResilience and ability to manage stressful situations effectively.\nTeamwork and cross-functional collaboration mindset.\nQuality Decision\nManages Conflicts\nDrives Results\nInterpersonal savvy\nManages Complexity\n\n-Internal Use Only: SalaryGlobal Terms of Use and Privacy Statement\nCarefully read the BorgWarner Privacy Policy before using this website.
