Our strong operations and commercialization expertise result in high volume availability of competitive, efficient products that truly drive change.\nBorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as Program Launch Buyer (M/F/D) at our new production plant in Viana, Portugal.\nResponsibilities:\nLaunch planning & coordination:\nOversee the development and execution of detailed launch plans for assigned projects, ensuring all activities are executed according to schedule and budget;\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of project goals, requirements and milestones;\n\nCoordinate with internal departments and external partners to ensure launch readiness, including purchasing, production and logistics;\n\nBOM cost and vendor tooling management according to project requirement.\n\nMilestone Monitoring & Compliance:\nEnsure that the project progresses according to the milestones (BW and customer) and deadlines set until launch.\n\nTrack and monitor the progress of activities, identifying delays or problems that could affect the launch schedule.\n\nWork closely with the project teams to implement corrective actions when necessary and ensure that the project remains on schedule.\n\nFollow up of sourcing status, process compliance and PPAP status for every component;\n\nEnsure parts availability for internal milestones tracking.\n\nProblem-Solving & Barrier Management:\nIdentify potential risks, obstacles or bottlenecks in the pre-launch and launch phases.\n\nProactively assess challenges and develop alternative solutions to keep the project moving forward without compromising quality.\n\nCollaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to fix any problems that could interrupt project milestones or affect the launch date.\n\nHighlight project difficulties and provide recommendations to overcome barriers and keep the project on track.\n\nSupplier & Stakeholder Coordination:\nWork with suppliers, vendors and other external partners to ensure that all necessary materials, resources and services are provided on time.\n\nManage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of expectations and delivery on key project objectives.\n\nResolve any issues with suppliers or external partners in a timely and effective manner to ensure there are no disruptions to the project.\n\nCommunication & Reporting:\nProvide regular updates on the progress of launch preparation, highlighting any potential risks or issues.\n\nPrepare and deliver reports on milestone achievements, supplier performance and any corrective actions taken.\n\nMaintain clear and open communication with all internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that everyone is informed about the progress of the launch and any challenges encountered.\n\nDevelop a culture characterized by good professional ethics and involvement in the process among employees in all áreas;\n\nComply with environmental, health and safety, quality and productivity standards;\n\nComply with the organization's rules and internal regulations: Code of Ethics, practice and working period;\n\nRespect workplace safety and cleanliness rules;\n\nPerform other tasks not included in the activity for which they were hired, when the needs or convenience of service so warrant, for the period of time necessary for the aforementioned needs or convenience of service.\n\nRequirements & Competencies\nBachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.\n\nProven experience (3+ years) in project management, operations management, or a related role in a project-driven environment.\n\nStrong understanding of project management principles, particularly in launch phases and milestone tracking.\n\nExcellent problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively identify challenges and develop effective solutions.\n\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and priorities while adhering to tight deadlines.\n\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.\n\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and project management tools.\n\nKnowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).\n\nExperience with product launch or go-to-market strategies.\n\nEEO Statement\nBorgWarner is an equal employment opportunity employer such that all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin or disability.\n-Internal Use Only: SalaryGlobal Terms of Use and Privacy Statement\nCarefully read the BorgWarner Privacy Policy before using this website.
