This role supervises purchasing staff, manages supplier relationships, and negotiates pricing and contracts with a focus on cost control, quality, and on-time delivery. Collaboration with production planning, engineering, and inventory teams to align material availability to support production demands.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead, coach, develop and supervise a team of buyers and purchasing staff\n\nTrain, assign, and delegate responsibilities/projects\n\nFollow up on performance progress, audit work, and provide feedback to each team member\n\nManage sourcing of materials and components to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets\n\nTrack and control bill of materials (BOM) costs, especially during product launches\n\nEnsure on-time delivery and supplier capacity to support production schedules\n\nCoordinate program reviews, monitor progress, and manage risks\n\nDevelop bid lists and support sourcing strategies aligned with company goals and commodity strategies\n\nIdentify cost-savings and improvement opportunities and address budget gaps\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, etc.)\n\nGenerate reports, action plans, and updates for leadership\n\nOversee supplier performance, tooling, and launch readiness activities\n\nSupport smooth transition from product launch to full production\n\nEnsure compliance with quality standards, audits, and company procedures\n\nPromote safe work practices and resolve safety issues\n\nMaintain organized work areas and proper material handling\n\nStep in to support purchasing activities as needed and perform other assigned duties\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n5+ years of purchasing or program or project management experience working in an industrial production purchasing environment with preference for globally supported environment\n\n3+ years of supervisory experience preferred\n\nBachelor 's Degree in Supply Chain Management/Engineering/Business Management or equivalent specialty required\n\nCertified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) a plus\n\nProven ability to work effectively as part of a team\n\nProject Management or Program Management skills\n\nTeam Leader, Critical Analysis, and excellent Negotiation Skills\n\nStrong Interpersonal Skills\n\nProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, eRFQ, Web based tracking software, and ERP systems knowledge a plus.\n\nMust be self-motivated/directed. Required to determine most, if not all, of own work assignments; both tactical and strategic.
