Our strong operations and commercialization expertise result in high volume availability of competitive, efficient products that truly drive change.\nBorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for “dynamic, results driven” individual to join as Vendor Planner (M/F/D) at our production plant in Viana, Portugal.\nKey Accountabilities:\nManage proactive communication with suppliers (via EDI or Web EDI) to ensure accurate tracking of materials, fulfillment of requirements, and timely ASN (Advanced Shipping Notice) submissions.\n\nEnsure suppliers are using EDI or Web EDI platforms to avoid order transmissions via email.\n\nMonitor demand vs. coverage for raw materials to maintain inventory levels in line with defined targets (minimum 12 inventory turnovers), comparing customer needs with purchasing requirements through SAP transactions.\n\nEnsure proper SAP configuration for each material and supplier, including settings such as MOQ, transit time, rounding value, planning calendar, and transport terms (based on Incoterms).\n\nCoordinate material pickup requests and follow-up with the Transportation team by entering data into SharePoint.\n\nEnsure timely receipt of purchase orders and correct quantities, following up with the Warehouse team until production lines are fully supplied and downtime is avoided (KPI).\n\nIdentify, anticipate, and mitigate supply risks or issues, while leveraging ERP functionalities to implement improvement tools.\n\nPerform regular inventory checks in line-side supermarkets to verify ERP stock accuracy.\n\nEvaluate supplier delivery performance monthly through on-time delivery reporting.\n\nCollaborate with the Purchasing Department on managing materials for new projects that are not yet in SOP (Start of Production), contributing to KPI monitoring.\n\nEnsure compliance with agreed transit times with contracted transport companies to avoid costly special shipments (KPI).\n\nMaintain material in transit within optimal limits to prevent excess inventory that could negatively impact operational efficiency (KPI).\n\nDevelop a culture characterized by good professional ethics and involvement in the process among employees in all áreas;\n\nComply with environmental, health and safety, quality and productivity standards;\n\nComply with the organization's rules and internal regulations: Code of Ethics, practice and working period;\n\nRespect workplace safety and cleanliness rules;\n\nPerform other tasks not included in the activity for which they were hired, when the needs or convenience of service so warrant, for the period of time necessary for the aforementioned needs or convenience of service.\n\nEducation & Experience\nTechnical course (level 5) or degree in Supply Chain Management, Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.\n\nMinimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role (preferred).\n\nHands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP (MM/PP modules) or similar systems (e.g., Oracle, JDE, Dynamics).\n\nSolid understanding of logistics processes, inventory management, and production planning.\n\nStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.\n\nExperience with EDI/Web EDI platforms for supplier communication is highly desirable.\n\nAdvanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis tools) and familiarity with reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) are often required.\n\nKnowledge of Incoterms, lead time management, and demand planning principles is a strong asset.\n\nExperience in KPI monitoring and vendor performance evaluation.\n\nFamiliarity with inventory management and logistics processes.\n\nAvailability and willingness to undertake mandatory training and continuously develop professional skills.\n\nStrong conflict management and problem-solving abilities.\n\nCapable of making quality decisions under pressure.\n\nResults-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement.\n\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills.\n\nAvailability to travel as required.\n\nFluency in English and Portuguese (written and spoken).\n\n-Internal Use Only: Indirect HourlyGlobal Terms of Use and Privacy Statement\nCarefully read the BorgWarner Privacy Policy before using this website.
