The individual will aggressively drive quality improvements, ensure company standards are adhered to, and organizational goals for achieving “zero defect” performance are met. The individual will foster cross functional support to implement process improvements and problem-solving efforts for the supply base, to focus on protecting and improving incoming product quality.\nKEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nResults for this position will be measured by internal customer satisfaction and supplier metrics.\nDrives and champions quality improvement efforts internally and externally (supply base).\nRespond to, and fully support, company plant production by ensuring all supplier parts meet engineering requirements.\nResponsible for advanced product quality planning, roadblock remover, and successful launch of supply base components (on time and zero defects).\nEnsures that internal needs for Control Systems are established, communicated and met in a timely and functional manner at the supply base.\nConduct supplier audits of Implemented Corrective Actions Plans, quality systems and overall operations.\nProvides expert analysis, guidance and support to Production/Supplier in Process Improvement activities, including effective use of Problem-Solving tools / techniques, statistical analysis and Inspection Equipment and Techniques.\nConduct Supplier Quality Training at suppliers facilities to meet BorgWarner’s and/or customer’s specific quality expectations/requirements.\nUtilizes analytical skill sets to implement root cause analysis and provide recommendations for corrective action.\nOptimizes Process Capability on critical characteristics at the supply base through effective application of statistical analysis techniques and Problem-Solving.\nProactively work with suppliers to minimize and/or eliminate launch and ongoing quality/performance issues.\nReport Supplier launch, quality and performance progress/problems to company management.\nReview and make disposition on Supplier Production Part Approval Process Submissions, to ensure they are submitted and approved to organizational requirements.\nSafety and Health - Responsible for completing required safety training, reporting and correcting any unsafe practices as appropriate, completing work activities in a safe manner, and complying with safety and health requirements for respective position.\nJOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (Minimum Qualifications)\nRequires a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering; and a combination of two years Manufacturing Engineering / Quality Assurance experience in the automotive industry.\nMust have demonstrated knowledge of advanced quality planning, inspection equipment and techniques, root cause failure analysis, capability studies, statistical distributions, machine and assembly processes, problem solving, team facilitation and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.\nKnowledge of TS16949 required.\nExperience with Supplier Development a plus.\nExperience with report writing in Microsoft Word and graphical analysis in Minitab strongly preferred.\nCORE COMPETENCIES\nCustomer Focus\nInnovation Management\nDecision Quality\nEthics and Values\nPriority Setting\nProblem Solving\nInforming\nProcess Management\nDrive for Results\nFunctional/Technical Skills\nSalary Range: $107,000.00 to $161,400.00\n-Salary Range:\n$107,600 - $147,950Internal Use Only: SalaryGlobal Terms of Use and Privacy Statement\nCarefully read the BorgWarner Privacy Policy before using this website.
