The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise, project leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver safe, reliable, and high-performance battery systems.Key Responsibilities\nLead battery system development projects from concept and design through validation, production launch, and post-launch support.\nOwn the integrated project plan, including scope, schedule, milestones, resources, deliverables, and project governance.\nServe as the lead integrator across engineering, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, customers, and suppliers to drive alignment and execution.\nDirect technical development across battery cells, modules and packs, battery management systems, thermal management, mechanical structures, high-voltage electrical systems, embedded software, and controls.\nDrive cross-functional decision-making, resolve technical and program issues, and ensure timely completion of critical deliverables.\nIdentify and manage project risks, dependencies, and changes; establish mitigation and recovery plans and escalate critical issues when needed.\nServe as the primary project interface for customers and key suppliers, ensuring requirements, commitments, technical decisions, and deliverables are clearly communicated and achieved.\nLead validation, certification, and product-release readiness, ensuring battery systems meet customer, regulatory, safety, quality, and performance requirements.\nDrive prototype and production-launch readiness with manufacturing and quality teams, including issue resolution, corrective actions, and lessons learned.\nWhat we are looking for\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.\n5+ years of experience in engineering or technical product development, including at least 2 years leading cross-functional projects or major technical workstreams\nExperience with battery systems, electrified vehicles, energy storage, or related technologies.\nStrong project planning, scheduling, organization, and cross-functional coordination skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and related project management tools.\nAbility to travel internationally as required.\nPreferred Qualifications\n2+ years of experience with lithium-ion battery systems, BMS, or battery pack development.\nKnowledge of battery validation, qualification testing, and applicable standards, including UL 1973, UL 9540/9540A, UN 38.3, IEC 62619, and ISO 26262.\nExperience in customer-facing engineering or technical project management.\nFamiliarity with APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, and change management processes.\n:Change Management, Define Future State, Engineering Standards and Compliance, Perform Gap Analysis, Project Schedule ManagementInternal Use Only: SalaryGlobal Terms of Use and Privacy Statement\nCarefully read the BorgWarner Privacy Policy before using this website.
