This includes tracking outputs, capacity planning, and continuous communication with suppliers, who may be international.\nMake\nProvide a master schedule to production by line and by product\nDaily communication with planners to avoid any supplier shortage\nTrouble shoot SAP issues as necessary\nWork with aftersales for demands and relay build needs to Production Scheduler.\nEnsure the master schedule is loaded into SAP properly, accurately and timely fashion, running the MPS so that supplier schedules can be distributed.\nLead production meeting reporting for assigned BU.\nTrack productions performance to the master schedule and take corrective actions as required.\n Responsible for maintaining finished goods inventory levels at target and inventory accuracy\nEstablish daily production planning in line with cost effective runs mutually accepted plan.\nSource\nTrouble shoot SAP issues as necessary\nRelease material against blanket purchase orders (Domestic and International Suppliers) to support production schedule as well as pass-thru business. Communicate schedule updates with suppliers on a regular basis. \nResponsible for the management of inventory levels, schedules and availability of selected item, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production levels.\nTrack Supplier delivery performance and follow up on past due suppliers. Drive corrective action with all late suppliers.\nCommunicate information as required to departments and personnel within the company.\nWork to drive out root causes of inventory inaccuracy, with the goal of improving overall system reliability. \nManage part shortage report on daily basis and report as necessary in production meeting.\nFollow-up and expedite materials as needed to meet customer requirements\nReduce excess inventory to increase inventory turns. \nWork with the logistics coordinator to reduce freight costs. \nPlanners are responsible for proposing process improvements and the generation or management of key reports and metrics.\nDeliver\nResponsible for monitoring the daily incoming EDI.\nDaily communication with planners to avoid any supplier shortage\nMinimize any premium freight impacts.\nSet up new customer scheduling agreements and part numbers according to internal order from sales.\nCheck the customer demand compare to the capacity contracted and alert if the demand is over MCR.\nDevelop partnership with customer.\nWork with shipping to ensure all customer requirements are clearly understood and met.\nSet up expedites to the customer as required and communicate with Transportation Company to preclude delays in transit.\nMaintain all customer systems (Covisint, DDL, Smart, Supply Power)\nResponsible for monitoring customer orders and communicate any significant fluctuations. Negotiate any premium expenses with the customer that may result from customer order changes. \nTrouble shoot SAP issues as necessary.\nAnalyze customer releases for short term changes and long term forecast.\nResponsible for the relationship with the customer material planner and prompt responses to all customer requests. Each customer has unique requirements that must be followed. Reference individual customer work instructions for daily tasks. \nPre-production\nReceive customer PO thru sales organization and/or customer integrated release engineer.\nAnalyze the customer deviation.\nDefine and responsible for the production planning for the finished goods pre production parts in line with the program time line.\nSend the release to the suppliers for the pre production parts without a scheduling agreement (SA).\nResponsible for the availability of the pre production parts from suppliers to meet the production plan.\nResponsible for accurate inventory of all supplier pre production parts in house.\nEstablish lead time and communicate material delivery target date.\nResponsible for fulfilling the logistics checklist for each gate of the new program.\nInterface with the logistics department about packaging definition and line side lay out.\nInterface with customer receiving areas as needed.\nPerform all necessary SAP transactions (material movements, sales orders, shipping etc).\nTrouble shoot SAP issues as necessary.\nEstablish cost effective shipment method for pre production parts.\nResponsible for roll out of supplier expectations - Logistics manual, understanding releases, shipment guidelines.\nEstablish program ramp up plan that supports production for distribution to suppliers.\nTravel to suppliers as needed.\nReporting of Logistics progress toward program milestones/gates to management.\nResponsible for ensuring proper hand off of part responsibility to Production Planners.\nLiaison to external departments for pre production activities.\n EDUCATION\nBachelors degree or alternative four year program in Business, Logistics, or other associated field.\nEXPERIENCE\nPrevious planning experience, specifically within customer/supplier relations and production line planning is required.
