We invite you to join us in this transformation.\nJob Description\nBe a part of the growing Audio Engineering team that seeks to deliver experiences to every place where audio matters! The Bose Audio Technology Licensing group is seeking a passionate, hands-on Acoustical Engineer to take part in supporting our dynamic needs as we develop partnerships across many industries - all with the goal of finding new opportunities to widely deploy Bose technologies. You will be a key member of our cross functional team, working closely with your Bose colleagues and external partners to successfully develop and deliver our technologies to end consumers.\nHybrid Working Environment: 3-days/week on-site presence is required.\nResponsibilities:\nCollaborate with engineering team members to design, tune, and test audio devices, across a wide range of form factors and product categories covering wearables and out-loud devices\nDevelop acoustical system design concepts to achieve product performance requirements\nUse simulation tools to predict acoustical system behavior\nDefine and characterize physical prototypes of acoustical systems\nConduct acoustical measurements of components, subsystems, and full assemblies, and perform thorough analysis of results\nWork directly with DSP engineers and external partners to tune and optimize system performance and signal processing algorithms\nClearly communicate results through peer reviews and external customer-facing engagements\nCollaborate with external engineering partners to develop and validate physical acoustical designs and signal processing capabilities to meet product performance requirements\nCollaborate with Audio Technology Business Development and Product Management teams to support early technical engagements with new partners\nTravel (domestic and international) may be required, up to 4-6 weeks per year\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBS required in Acoustical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering\n8+ years of direct acoustic design experience of high-performance audio products\n2+ years of hands-on acoustic test / measurement experience\nCritical listening skills (system voicing, musical instrument experience, audio mixing, music production, etc)\nKnowledge of MATLAB for acoustical measurements as well as algorithm simulation / development. Simulink knowledge a plus\nUnderstanding of room acoustics and measurement techniques\nFamiliarity with transducer design, lumped parameter models, micro drivers, ECM, and MEMS devices\nKnowledge of headphone and wearable acoustical structures, enclosure/port design, and noise cancellation technology a plus\nExperience specifying requirements for acoustical components, including: loudspeakers, micro-speakers, microphones, acoustic meshes\nStrong understanding of acoustical test / measurement systems and techniques\nKnowledge of voice communications techniques and microphone systems, including: beamforming, speech processing, acoustic echo cancellation, voice activity detection\nExperience using and selecting acoustical test equipment from B&K, GRAS, Audio Precision, National Instruments, Listen Inc.
