We invite you to join us in this transformation.\nJob Description\nThe Role\nWe’re looking for an Embedded Software Engineer Co-op to help develop and test software and firmware for Bose audio products, prototypes, and engineering tools.\nYou’ll work alongside software, systems, DSP, acoustics, and hardware engineers to develop solutions for embedded audio systems, automation, testing, and development platforms. You’ll gain experience across the software development lifecycle, from design and implementation through debugging, validation, and deployment.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDesign, develop, and test embedded software and firmware for audio systems and engineering platforms.\nDevelop high-quality, maintainable code using C/C++ and Python.\nPrototype and integrate software on embedded processors and hardware platforms.\nDevelop automation tools to improve testing, performance measurement, and engineering workflows.\nDebug, validate, and benchmark software performance in embedded environments.\nParticipate in code reviews and follow software development and version-control practices.\nCreate technical documentation for software design, implementation, testing, and validation.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams including software, DSP, acoustics, systems, and hardware engineering.\nWhat You Bring\nCurrently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.\nProgramming experience with C/C++ and/or Python.\nCoursework or project experience in embedded systems, software development, algorithms, computer architecture, or operating systems.\nStrong problem-solving and debugging skills.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a hands-on engineering environment.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nFamiliarity with embedded processors, RTOS, Linux, or embedded Linux.\nExperience with Git or other source-control tools.\nKnowledge of DSP, audio signal processing, or real-time audio systems.\nExperience with software testing, automation, CI/CD, or performance profiling.\nFamiliarity with microcontrollers, ARM-based systems, device drivers, or hardware/software interfaces.\nExperience using laboratory equipment or working with electronic hardware.\nPassion for software, audio technology, embedded systems, and learning how things work.\nAt Bose, you're inspired to be and do your best and are rewarded for your unique talents!
