We work in a uniquely collaborative model across the firm and throughout all levels of the client organization, generating results that allow our clients to thrive.\nWhat You'll Do\nDesign, document, and build the data pipelines and transformations to feed data models in Snowflake.\nOwn and maintain the overall data model: entity definitions, relationships, and documentation.\nDevelop automated tests and manual testing approaches to ensure correctness and completeness of the data.\nBe accountable for data mapping and source system analysis (supported by data analysts).\nBe accountable for translating functional requirements into build specifications.\nBe accountable for solution design and technical architecture.\nBe the day-to-day technical leader for the data engineering team.\nReview work from other team members to ensure quality standards are met and provide feedback for growth.\nHelp drive technical planning, delivery, measurement, operations, and support for the assets the team delivers and maintains.\nWhat You'll Bring\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.Bachelor’s degree in information science, data management, computer science, or related fields preferred.\n\n5+ years of IT/engineering experience with a major focus on data warehousing, analytics, or data engineering.\nHands-on experience developing with dbt is required.\nHands-on experience with Snowflake or other modern analytical data warehouses is required.\nExperience designing and building SCDs, CDC pipelines, and DQ/DV frameworks.\nExperience designing and building data models for analytical and operational workloads and familiarity with concepts like dimensional modeling and data vault.\nExperience working with agile methodologies (Scrum) with cross-functional teams.\nExcellent written and oral communication and presentation skills to present architecture, features, and solution recommendations.\nWho You'll Work With\nFunctional product portfolio technical leaders, product owners, and functional area teams working across software development, SaaS, AI, and data.\nEnterprise data platform, enterprise architecture, infrastructure, and security teams.\nAdditional info\nYOU'RE GOOD AT \n\nYou have extensive experience in data warehousing, data modeling, and building and maintaining data pipelines. You are well-versed in modern data tooling like dbt, Fivetran, Snowflake, and AWS Glue. You have a strong ability to transform functional requirements and the outputs of business analysis into technical specifications and build requirements. You enjoy ensuring that each new thing that is implemented builds the platform’s overall capabilities and reusability.\nStrong analytical skills related to working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured datasets.\nAbility to partner with product owners to identify requirements, define desired outcomes, and deliver trusted, valuable results.\nExperience designing and building processes to promote engineering excellence and efficiency.\nDemonstrably deep understanding of SQL (advanced level) and analytical data warehouses (Snowflake is preferred).\nHands-on experience with SQL database design, developing with dbt, and familiarity with Python (especially pyspark), AWS Glue, and AWS cloud.\nFamiliarity with Jira and Confluence.\nEagerness to continually keep up with advancements in data engineering and AI-assisted engineering practices.\nAt BCG, our people and relationships are at the heart of everything we do.
