Every project presents a new challenge, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact from concept through commercialization.\nSee how Boston Engineering helps clients turn complex ideas into real-world products and technologies\n\nWatch: Boston Engineering - Product Development Services\n Provide mechanical engineering design and development of innovative products from concept through production\nDesign, build, and test proof-of-concept models, breadboards, prototypes, and production-ready designs\nApply expertise in motion systems, motion controls, robotics, and precision electromechanical design\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, systems, and manufacturing engineers\nUtilize Creo and/or SolidWorks to develop detailed mechanical designs and documentation\nPerform engineering analyses, develop product specifications, and create design documentation\nApply Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and design for cost and reliability principles\nSupport proposal development, technical estimates, and customer engagements\nContribute to rapid prototyping and iterative product development efforts\nEnsure compliance with Boston Engineering's Quality Management System and engineering best practices\n 8-10+ years of mechanical engineering experience focused on new product development\nDemonstrated success bringing complex products from concept through manufacturing\nExperience designing high-precision electromechanical systems\nExperience with rapid prototyping and prototype development\nExperience designing products for underwater or marine environments\nProficiency with Creo and/or SolidWorks\nExperience developing products that integrate mechanical, electrical, and software systems\nStrong understanding of DFM, DFA, design for cost, and reliability engineering\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications\nPrevious experience working within an engineering services or product development consulting environment\nFamiliarity with Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) programs is a plus\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering\n This role is restricted to US persons (i.e., US citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 USC 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology.
