The successful candidate will be responsible for sustaining multiple fully automated production lines. This role requires a strong emphasis on documentation and compliance with industry standards. Training will be provided on some systems.\nKey Responsibilities:\nGenerate documentation for the detailed specification, design, development and testing of new equipment & automated systems\n\nDevelop, test and install code changes to existing equipment under change control\n\nMaintain comprehensive documentation of code to medical device standards\n\nActively participate among cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and to required quality standards.\n\nAnalyse, understand & fault-find as necessary on complex automation equipment\n\nEnsure all validation activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures.\n\nResponsible for the introduction and validation of new equipment.\n\nProvide technical support and make informed decisions on hardware and architecture selection\n\nWorks with Value Streams to identify opportunities for equipment improvement - automation, vision systems, robotics, etc.\n\nMeets with vendors to review equipment proposals, vendor selection, and capital approval.\n\nDevelop a detailed understanding of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and use of same to drive optimum equipment utilisation/operation.\n\nIdentify equipment & automated system upgrades as part of continuous improvement programs, improving equipment/systems in terms of performance, quality, and availability.\n\nEstablishes and supports a work environment of continuous improvement that supports Quality policy, Quality System & the appropriate regulations for the area.\n\nDevelop detailed knowledge & understanding in all aspects of automation systems including PLC, HMI, vision, robotics, PC software, and databases.\n\nMaintain and develop the team’s technical and trouble shooting skills.\n\nProviding technical leadership on maintenance and equipment issues.\n\nEducation & Experience:\nDegree in Automation/Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics/Software or related Engineering discipline with at least 7 years relevant experience\n\nExperience working with automation systems & automated production equipment essential\n\nExcellent working knowledge of PLCs: Allen Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, GE Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Omron, Toshiba etc.\n\nExperience of HMI or SCADA programming and configuration\n\nHands-on working experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC’s a distinct advantage.\n\nHands-on working experience with Robotics & Vision system applications is an advantage.\n\nProblem-solving and analytical skills.\n\nExcellent analytical and technical problem-solving skills essential\n\nStrong organizational skills\n\nStrong Leadership & Influencing skills\n\nWorks well within a team environment and on own initiative\n\nAbility to document own work clearly and precisely\n\nExcellent communication skills\n\nAs a leader in medical science for more than 40 years, we are committed to solving the challenges that matter most - united by a deep caring for human life.
