You’ll own our data infrastructure, data governance, and ML capabilities, along with the systems that keep data reliable, secure, performant, and accessible for our growing customer base and internal teams. You’ll lead a high-impact team of data engineers, with a mandate to grow and scale it, and help make our data platform a real competitive advantage.\nThis is a foundational role: the systems you architect will support Boulevard’s growth for years to come. The role is fully remote, so you can choose where you want to work.\nWhat you’ll do here:\nDefine and execute the long-term technical strategy for our data platform, so it stays scalable and reliable as we grow.\nLead, mentor, and grow a team of data platform engineers, setting best practices and a culture of excellence.\nPartner closely with Product Management, Product Engineering, and the Data Insights team to deliver platform capabilities that power customer-facing data products and internal insights.\nDrive architectural decisions for our data systems, balancing current needs with future flexibility and scale.\nSet up monitoring, alerting, and operational practices that keep our data systems highly available and performant.\nDefine and implement data governance policies, security standards, and quality frameworks across the company.\nWork with leadership to align the data platform roadmap with business objectives and technical strategy.\nWhat you’ll need to thrive:\n10+ years of experience in data platform engineering, distributed systems, or infrastructure engineering, with deep expertise building scalable data processing systems.\n5+ years of people management experience, including managing senior engineers and technical leads.\nA proven track record building data platforms and ML systems that support both internal analytics and customer-facing data products.\nExperience delivering customer-facing reporting, dashboards, and analytics features in collaboration with Product teams.\nStrong experience with modern data stack technologies, such as dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, and Kafka.\nDeep understanding of data governance, quality frameworks, and security best practices.\nA strategic mindset: you translate business goals into technical roadmaps, balancing short-term execution with long-term vision.\nHow we’ll take care of you:\nAt Boulevard, we work hard to structure compensation in a way that balances internal equity with local market competitiveness, and we're happy to share a good-faith estimate of the base salary range for this role. For candidates in NYC, the SF Bay Area, and Seattle, the anticipated base salary range is $262,000 - $314,000 per year. For all other U.S. locations, the anticipated base salary range is $220,000 - $270,000 per year. In addition to this base compensation, this role may be eligible to participate in a variable compensation program.
