Teams rely on our services for rule evaluation and distributed job management at scale to guarantee reliable execution of their workloads, including ensuring customers' files are indexed for search and converted for preview across our platforms.\nEvents Platform is currently expanding into its next generation through a growing adoption by more Box products and into new use cases and we're seeking for a Software Engineer III to join our team to help shape that future. You'll have the opportunity to be a part of and collaborate across high impact teams, architect new solutions, and work with a broad and modern tech stack of cloud-native services. The work you do will have a meaningful impact for millions of users every day.\nWHAT YOU'LL DO \nDesign and implement scalable services with a focus on reliability, observability, operability and efficiency.\n\nWork with cutting-edge technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, Pub/Sub, Bigtable, and Istio.\n\nPlay a significant role in shaping the platform vision and defining feature roadmaps.\n\nProvide mentorship to fellow engineers and contribute to team growth and development.\n\nEnhance engineering processes, principles, and culture within the team and across Box, by championing a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and blameless retrospection.\n\nParticipate in our on-call rotation, available at all times while on-call to help respond to and triage any issues that arise.\n\nWHO YOU ARE\nWe are an AI-first company. This means you approach your work with a growth mindset and find ways to leverage AI to help make faster, smarter decisions that will 10X your impact at Box.\nRequired skills\nYou have at least 3+ years of professional software development experience.\n\nExperience building distributed services and APIs for internal backend systems in the enterprise applications space\n\nYou have a proven track record of building services and/or tooling in one or more languages (e.g., Java, Go, Scala, Python).\n\nYou have experience working with message queues and/or streaming data systems like Kafka/PubSub.\n\nAbility to lead and deliver large projects with minimal supervision, and to work independently or as part of a larger team.\n\nPreferred skills\nExperience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Service (AWS) or Azure.\n\nExperience deploying and operating microservices on Kubernetes.\n\nBox lives its values, with community and in-person collaboration being a core part of our culture.
