This is a hands-on, technical role with significant ownership. Our systems are primarily backend and API-driven, so your focus will be on backend, API, integration, and end-to-end testing rather than simply testing the UI. You’ll work closely with developers and DevOps to understand how our systems work, identify risks early, investigate complex issues, improve test coverage, and ensure that releases are ready for production.\nAs our first dedicated QA hire, you’ll also have the opportunity to shape how QA is done across the company - from test strategy and automation to processes, tooling, and release quality. We’re looking for someone technical, pragmatic, and curious who enjoys going beyond the UI to investigate APIs, databases, logs, infrastructure, and real-world system behavior.\nYour Day-to-Day Responsibilities\nOwn and continuously improve our QA strategy, processes, and testing approach.\nPlan and execute manual, exploratory, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing.\nTest REST APIs and end-to-end business flows using Postman, cURL, or similar tools.\nReview requirements early and identify risks, edge cases, ambiguities, and missing scenarios.\nDefine and maintain test plans, regression coverage, and release criteria.\nBuild and maintain automated regression and end-to-end tests using Playwright or similar frameworks.\nInvestigate and troubleshoot issues using application logs, databases, metrics, and monitoring tools.\nWork with GCP and Azure environments and cloud logging/monitoring tools.\nUse SQL to validate data and investigate issues, ideally with PostgreSQL.\nCollaborate closely with developers and DevOps on defects, environments, deployments, and technical investigations.\nReproduce, isolate, document, and follow up on issues through to resolution.\nProvide QA approval, risk assessment, and release readiness recommendations for production releases.\nHelp establish practical QA standards, processes, and best practices across the company. \nSkills We Cannot Do Without\n3+ years of QA experience or equivalent senior-level experience.\nStrong hands-on experience with backend/API, integration, manual, regression, and exploratory testing.\nExperience owning test strategy, test planning, regression coverage, and release readiness.\nStrong experience testing REST APIs and end-to-end business flows using Postman, cURL, or similar tools.\nAbility to identify risks, edge cases, and missing scenarios during requirements and technical reviews.\nExperience building and maintaining automated regression and end-to-end tests, using Playwright or similar frameworks.\nGood SQL skills, ideally with PostgreSQL.\nStrong troubleshooting skills and experience working with logs, databases, metrics, and monitoring tools.\nExperience with cloud environments, logging, and monitoring, particularly GCP and Azure.\nGood understanding of HTTP, REST, authentication, and distributed systems.\nProgramming/scripting experience, ideally with JavaScript/TypeScript or similar.\nComfortable working closely with developers and DevOps on technical investigations and releases.\nAbility to make QA approval and risk-based release recommendations.\nStrong communication skills in Greek and English. \nNice to Have\nExperience with Cloudflare, Elasticsearch, or similar platforms.\nFamiliarity with gRPC, Docker, Docker Compose, Linux, and VMs.\nExperience with performance/load testing and basic security testing.\nExperience testing mobile applications, cross-browser compatibility, or web accessibility.\nExperience with physical devices, hardware-integrated systems, or IoT.\nFamiliarity with Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, or .NET
