Focusing heavily on new installations and willing to provide day-to-day production support.\nSupport for manufacturing including internal and external customers by participating in product development, product life cycle management, continuous improvement and VA/VE projects, product and process flow improvements, project management, and corrective and preventive actions. Responsible for providing technical experience in troubleshooting converting equipment and process issues with focus on material, tooling, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Communicate production and maintenance needs to appropriate departments, as necessary.\nEssential Duties Include: \nDesign, develop, and implement advanced control systems for automated equipment and industrial processes.\nLead the integration and optimization of high-precision vision-guided pick-and-place operations.\nConfigure and program vision systems to support object detection, alignment, and error-proofing within the automation cell.\nTroubleshoot and fine-tune robotic and vision systems for maximum reliability and performance.\nCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to complete system validation and meet project deadlines.\nProvide expert-level technical guidance to ensure successful deployment and transition into production.\nDevelop, implement, and refine machine control logic (PLC, HMI, VFDs, and motion systems).\nDiagnose and troubleshoot PLC, PC, NC, and CNC control systems to ensure uptime and efficiency.\nSupporting Role: \nProvide support to manufacturing by evaluating equipment and processes and designing, developing, and implementing improvements. Identification of process/product quality improvement opportunities and implementation.\nTechnical and engineering support to manufacturing operations and customers.\nProcess support/project management for continuous improvement of critical processes to drive process capability.\nAssist in new product launches, from quote to production, for successful launch and long-term production.\nCommunicate effectively with suppliers, manufacturing personnel, and customers, providing technical and engineering support.\nSupport lean manufacturing initiatives by participating in events, assisting wherever possible, and following up to ensure that gains are maintained.\nAssist QA in root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.\nCreate and conduct DOE, perform root cause analysis and process characterization through the use of FMEA’s, risk analysis, and data analysis using statistical techniques.\nAssist in customer and supplier product specification review.\nAssist in maintenance of tooling and machinery including performing routine maintenance activities.\nContinually research new machinery/methods of production to better the organization’s manufacturing processes.\nDrive Kaizen initiatives by working with teams to identify, implement, track, and report.\nOversee projects assigned to the process engineering team ensuring performance, timing, and cost objectives are met.\nLead the development and successful execution of Capex projects.\nServe as a liaison reviewing project expectations and communicating implementation plans and status.\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications:\n5+ years of experience with robotics in an industrial automation environment.\nAdvanced proficiency with vision systems.\nStrong understanding of machine vision, robotic integration, and automation control systems.\nAbility to work independently and take ownership of the final phases of complex automation projects.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach to system performance and reliability.\nExperience in industrial or automotive converting manufacturing desired\n2D CAD proficiency required; 3D CAD experience desired.\nKnowledge and experience in controls, PLC programming, process automation desired\nProject management experience required.\nLean Manufacturing experience desired\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in Controls Engineering or Industrial Automation\nCore Competencies:\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to Lead a team towards a common goal.\nCritical thinking, problem-solving and analytical ability.\nAttention to detail and excellent follow-up.\nWillingness to work overtime, as necessary, as workload dictates.\nExcellent time management skills.\n Physical Demands:\nThis position requires being on the production floor for extended periods of time.\nLifting capability of up to 40 lb. at times.\nLIMITATIONS AND DISCLAIMER\nThe above job description is meant to describe the general nature and level of work being performed; it is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required for the position.
