This role works closely with manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, customer service, and quality teams to ensure materials, labor, and equipment are aligned to meet production goals. The Production Planner monitors capacity, inventory levels, and customer demand to optimize workflow and minimize production disruptions.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer demand, inventory requirements, and manufacturing capacity.\nAnalyze sales orders, forecasts, inventory levels, and material availability to create achievable production plans.\nCoordinate with Purchasing to ensure raw materials and components are available to support production schedules.\nMonitor work orders and production progress, adjusting schedules as needed to address material shortages, equipment downtime, engineering changes, or customer priorities.\nCollaborate with Manufacturing Supervisors to balance workloads and improve resource utilization.\nReview production performance and identify opportunities to improve throughput, schedule adherence, and on-time delivery.\nMaintain accurate planning data within the ERP/MRP system.\nCommunicate schedule changes and production priorities to cross-functional teams.\nSupport inventory control initiatives by balancing customer service with appropriate inventory levels.\nParticipate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and production planning meetings.\nAssist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on lean manufacturing, waste reduction, and process optimization.\nGenerate production planning reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) including schedule attainment, inventory accuracy, capacity utilization, and on-time delivery.\nEnsure compliance with company quality standards, safety policies, and operational procedures.\nQualifications\nEducation\nBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.\nEquivalent combination of education and manufacturing planning experience will be considered.\nExperience\n3-5 years of production planning, scheduling, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.\nExperience in thermal management, metal fabrication, or industrial manufacturing is preferred.\nExperience using ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.\nExperience supporting Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives is a plus.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nStrong understanding of production planning, inventory control, capacity planning, and material requirements planning (MRP).\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nStrong organizational and time management skills.\nEffective communication and collaboration across multiple departments.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with reporting and data analysis tools is preferred.\nAbility to interpret production data and recommend process improvements.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.\nWorking knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to work in both office and manufacturing environments.\nOccasional walking throughout the production floor.\nAbility to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods.\nPreferred Certifications\nAPICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM)\nAPICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)\nLean Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred)\nKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)\nProduction schedule adherence\nOn-time customer delivery\nInventory accuracy\nManufacturing capacity utilization\nMaterial availability\nWork order completion\nERP data accuracy\nProduction efficiency improvements\nBoyd Thermal by Eaton is committed to providing a safe, collaborative, and inclusive work environment.
