Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and execution of the production flow in a fast-paced manufacturing plant. Directly supervise 30-40 employees; this includes hiring, training, and annual evaluations.\nThe ideal candidate must have strong leadership skills that will foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and cooperation to meet organizational goals. It is also important to have a strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles as well as a working knowledge and understanding of HVAC, brazing, charging, electrical mechanical assembly, and testing.\nDuties & Tasks\nDirect priorities and daily activities of assigned personnel through effective communications.\n\nCreate and lead a continuous improvement culture focused on eliminating defects through robust root cause and corrective action activities. Lead innovations to current processes and strive for world class, industry leading manufacturing and processes.\n\nManage the objectives and priorities for the manufacturing team. Properly deploy resources to support production area.\n\nWork closely with Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to prevent problems with products and tooling/fixtures.\n\nUse effective management and communication skills to create a cohesive team that is able to meet daily objectives.\n\nMonitor quality and production performance and adjust plans to meet forecast.\n\nReport metrics on Scorecards and provide daily/weekly reports as required.\n\nPlan and manage factory resources and report daily/weekly KPI’s as required.\n\nEnsure compliance of Boyd policies detailed in our handbook fairly with all employees.\n\nPlan and manage factory equipment and assets to meet production schedules.\n\nManage EH&S practices to ensure a safe work environment, and compliance with OSHA regulations.\n\nResponsible to qualify direct reports and evaluate effectiveness of training including updating the qualification matrixes.\n\nPerform other duties as assigned by Management.\n\nCompetencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):\nEffective Communications with all levels of employees\n\nKnowledge of manufacturing processes in HVAC, assembly, wiring, and testing.\n\nKnowledge of Manufacturing Quality and Product and Process Development.\n\nKnowledge of warehousing and efficient material delivery processes.\n\nKnowledge of root cause and corrective action methodologies.\n\nIntermediate knowledge with project management skills.\n\nIntermediate knowledge (advanced knowledge preferred) of lean methodologies including but not limited to TPM, 5S, and Visual factory concepts.\n\nIntermediate knowledge of building mechanical and electrical systems.\n\nGeneral knowledge of manufacturing and machining equipment.\n\nAdvanced knowledge of EH&S and OSHA requirements.\n\nManagement and leadership experience.\n\nRequirements:\nBS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or Engineering Technology with 10 years’ experience preferred.\n\nSupervisory experience, 5-10 years preferred.\n\nAbility to respond to and prioritize manufacturing operation issues as they arise.\n\nAbility to effectively meet and communicate with employees, the public and vendors.\n\nDaily contact requires courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment.\n\nAdvanced PC skills using Microsoft Office software, and strong presentation skills.\n\nGood written communication skills and effective organizational skills.\n\nWork Environment:\nThis job is performed in a manufacturing assembly and machining environment. Communication is constant with Assembly, Machining, Material Control, Quality, and Engineering groups. This role routinely uses computers and a smartphone along with using designated Oracle business software systems.\n\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
