At-will means that either you or Archaea may terminate your employment at any time, with or without cause, and with or without prior notice.\nAbout the role\nSupporting but not limited to Johnston Land Fill Gas to Electric Plant (Smithfield, NC), Millersville Land Fill Gas to Electric Plant (Severn, MD), and Zimmerman Energy Land Fill Gas to Electric Plant (Argus, Indiana), The Field Maintenance Technician - CAT is responsible for performing and supporting major maintenance activities, engine overhauls, troubleshooting, repairs, and reliability initiatives across a fleet of approximately 15 power generation facilities. This position works closely with plant personnel and regional leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance execution.\nThis role requires frequent travel to company facilities and may support emergency callouts or scheduled outages as needed. When not traveling, the technician will report to a designated local facility to assist with daily maintenance and operational needs.\nKey accountabilities\nPerform and support scheduled major maintenance activities at multiple power generation facilities.\nExecute engine overhauls, rebuilds, inspections, and repairs in accordance with company procedures and OEM standards.\nTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and operational issues related to power generation equipment and plant systems.\nAssist site personnel with corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, and equipment reliability improvements.\nComplete post-maintenance inspections, testing, oil sampling, and required follow-up tasks.\nEnsure all maintenance work orders, service records, and documentation are completed accurately in CMMS systems such as EMaint.\nCoordinate with plant personnel to minimize downtime and safely complete maintenance activities.\nAssist with parts ordering, inventory readiness, and material planning for maintenance events.\nRead and interpret technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment drawings.\nMaintain compliance with all company safety policies, environmental standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.\nSupport training efforts by sharing technical knowledge and maintenance best practices with site teams.\nMaintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.\nRespond to emergency maintenance needs and outage support as assigned.\nServe as the Delegate of Authority for Regional Managers as assigned.\nOn-call support for assigned facilities as-needed.\nThis is not a complete duty list; the CAT Field Maintenance Technician may be required to perform additional duties deemed necessary by management.\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty\nsatisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEssential education\nHigh school diploma or GED required.\n3-5 years of industrial maintenance, power generation, engine, or related\nmechanical/electrical experience.\nExperience working on CAT G3500 and/or CAT G3600 engines preferred.\nStrong troubleshooting skills involving mechanical, electrical, and rotating equipment systems.\nAbility to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and technical documentation.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance management software.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nValid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.\nAbility to pass required background screening, physical, hearing, and drug testing.\nAbility to travel up to 80%.\nPreferred Qualifications\nTechnical certification, trade school, or associate degree in industrial maintenance, diesel technology, electrical technology, or related field.\nPrevious experience in landfill gas, renewable natural gas, or power generation operations.\nExperience leading maintenance crews or coordinating outage activities.\nFamiliarity with CMMS platforms such as EMaint.\nOEM training or overhaul certification.\nWhy join us?\nDelivering a better and more balanced energy system requires many different approaches and solutions.
