This position provides day-to-day leadership and technical direction to ICE technicians while coordinating priorities with Operations, Engineering, Planning, Scheduling, Projects, and contractor partners.\nThe successful candidate will be a visible field leader who promotes safety, operating discipline, technical excellence, and continuous improvement. This role is accountable for ensuring maintenance work is properly identified, prioritized, planned, scheduled, and executed to support safe, compliant, reliable, and efficient facility operations.\nKey Accountabilities\nLead the safe execution of preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergent ICE maintenance activities.\nChampion BPX safety expectations, Control of Work, energy isolation, and operating discipline.\nProvide daily direction, work assignments, technical support, and field leadership to ICE technicians.\nValidate work requests and ensure work is appropriately prioritized, planned, scheduled, and documented.\nServe as the primary point of contact for emergent ICE maintenance and troubleshooting.\nCoordinate maintenance priorities and resource requirements with Operations, Engineering, Projects, and other maintenance disciplines.\nProvide technical leadership for instrumentation, automation, process control, electrical, protective, and safety systems.\nLead or participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis investigations and ensure corrective actions are completed.\nMonitor equipment performance, recurring failures, maintenance backlog, schedule compliance, and preventive maintenance completion.\nImprove maintenance procedures, job plans, troubleshooting guides, and equipment strategies.\nDevelop technician capability through coaching, mentoring, training, and competency assessments.\nProvide BPX oversight of contractors performing maintenance, testing, commissioning, and specialized technical services.\nSupport facility outages, equipment upgrade, commissioning, start-up, and management of change activities.\nPromote use of condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, failure data, and performance indicators to improve reliability.\nSupport maintenance budget delivery and make risk-based decisions that balance safety, reliability, production impact, and cost.\nEssential Experience & Education\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nSignificant maintenance experience in oil and gas, midstream, petrochemical, industrial, utility, or a related industry.\nDemonstrated experience leading maintenance personnel or serving in a senior technical leadership role.\nStrong working knowledge of instrumentation, automation, process control, and industrial electrical systems.\nExperience troubleshooting complex equipment failures and participating in root-cause investigations.\nExperience with SAP, Maximo, or a comparable computerized maintenance management system.\nWorking knowledge of Control of Work, energy isolation, electrical safety, process safety, and contractor oversight.\nAbility to interpret electrical schematics, loop drawings, logic diagrams, cause-and-effect documents, equipment manuals, and maintenance procedures.\nStrong planning, prioritization, decision-making, and communication skills.\nAbility to respond to equipment failures, abnormal conditions, and operational emergencies as required.\nValid driver's license.\nPreferred Skills\nTechnical certification, apprenticeship, or associate degree in instrumentation, automation, electrical technology, industrial electronics, or a related discipline.\nExperience supporting gas processing, compression, gathering, pipeline, or water-handling facilities.\nExperience with PLCs, SCADA, distributed control systems, safety systems, fire and gas systems, variable-frequency drives, motor controls, electrical distribution, and protective devices.\nExperience with predictive maintenance, reliability-centered maintenance, commissioning, management of change, and equipment startup.\nPrevious supervisory, frontline leadership, project-management, or cost-management experience.\nLeadership Expectations\nPut safety and operating discipline at the center of every decision.\nMaintain a visible and credible presence in the field.\nSet clear expectations and follow through on commitments.\nDevelop technicians through coaching, mentoring, and meaningful field engagement.\nPromote teamwork across Operations, Engineering, Projects, and Maintenance.\nUse equipment failures and performance data to drive lasting improvements.\nHold themselves and others accountable for work quality, documentation, and procedural compliance.\nLocation & Schedule\nLocation: Orla, Texas\nSchedule: Rotational 14 days on 14 days off, 84hrs/week while onshift\nCompensation & Benefits\n Base pay range: $143,000 - $168,000 - $193,000 USD annually\nThe pay range listed for this position is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.\nWe offer a reward and wellbeing package designed to support your life both inside and outside of work.
