This role partners with trading, finance, risk, and technology teams to strengthen risk management practices, enhance analytics, and promote a consistent risk culture across global operations.\nJob Summary\nMarket Risk Management\nProvide independent oversight and challenge of trading activities within established risk frameworks.\nAssess market risks associated with trading portfolios, new business opportunities, and central initiatives.\nSupport the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of emerging market risks.\nContribute to the development and continuous improvement of market risk standards, policies, and governance practices.\nRisk Analytics & Reporting\nDeliver market risk analysis and reporting that provides meaningful insights into portfolio exposures and risk drivers.\nDevelop and enhance risk analytics, methodologies, and tools to support effective decision-making.\nTranslate complex risk information into clear and actionable recommendations for partners.\nSupport the continuous improvement of risk measurement, reporting, and monitoring processes.\nCollaboration & Partner Engagement\nPartner with Front Office, Finance, Risk, and Technology teams to support business objectives and risk management priorities.\nBuild effective relationships across functions, regions, and teams to encourage knowledge sharing and collaboration.\nPromote a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.\nProvide technical guidance and share market risk knowledge across the organization.\nQualifications\nEducation\nBachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred.\nEquivalent combinations of education, professional experience, and transferable skills will also be considered.\nProfessional Background\nProven experience in market risk, trading, analytics, finance, quantitative analysis, risk management, consulting, or related fields.\nExperience working with data analysis, reporting, and risk metrics.\nFamiliarity with financial or commodity markets is beneficial.\nExperience with analytical tools such as Excel, Python, VBA, or similar technologies is advantageous.\nSkills & Competencies\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.\nAbility to interpret data and communicate insights to diverse audiences.\nEffective communication and relationship-building skills.\nAbility to collaborate across global and cross-functional teams.\nInterest in risk management, trading activities, and business performance.\nContinuous improvement perspective with curiosity and adaptability.\nAbility to influence outcomes through collaboration and constructive challenge.\nAdvanced English proficiency.\nWork Location & Shift Pattern\nSão Paulo, Brazil.\nHybrid model: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote.\nNo travel required.\nRelocation assistance not available.\nWhy join us\nAt bp, we support our people to learn and grow in a diverse and ambitious environment.
