The role's main focus is operating, scheduling, managing, tracking and balancing all physical schedules within BP's Power Portfolio while being 100% compliant.\nKey accountabilities\nReal Time Trader is responsible for all operational duties for BP's physical power obligations across all NERC regions.\nMust be compliant with all internal and external requirements.\nSupport the development and implementation of the Power team's business strategy.\nProvide analytical support to all Power traders when requested.\nAssist all internal BP affiliate relationships.\nHelp optimize BP’s North American assets.\nEssential education, experience and requirements\nBachelor's degree in related field\nProven relevant experience scheduling and trading power preferred.\nKnowledge of market rules and ISO protocols\nSolid understanding of the optimization and scheduling of power assets, indluding storage, transmission, and generation offtake.\nFamiliarity with US ISOs with an emphasis in CAISO, MISO and PJM\nStrong experience in bilateral WECC markets such as the Pacific Northwest, the Desert Southwest and the Southeast.\nRelevant understanding of OASIS and OATI-E-tag environments\nMust be able to multi-task and manage high pressure situations in a dynamic environment.\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills\nExcellent analytical, computational, and critical thinking skills including proficiency in Excel.\nAbility to develop analytical models and interpret market data is highly desired.\nMust be able to work in a fast-paced environment with critical time deadlines.\nExperience with electrical systems operations, scheduling, tagging, power flows, and generation technologies.\nAble to work on a 24/7 rotating shift.\nAvailable to actively participate in bp’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP) when called upon.\nDesirable Experience\nNERC System Operator Certification\nPJM Certification\nMultilingual; preference of Spanish or Portuguese\nWhy join bp:\nAt bp, we support our people to learn and grow in a diverse and challenging environment.
