This role works very closely with R&PTE at all levels to ensure the best use of MS Office technology, seeking continuous improvement to existing processes as well as building new EUC tools direct with users.\nSignificant direct interaction with Front Office traders and trade exposure analysts to develop and support critical trading tools.\nKey Accountabilities\nDevelopmentSupport and continuous improvement of EUC (End User Computing) applications and processes for the Oil Trading Front Office.\nComplete work on projects often working individually directly with Traders/Analysts/Middle Office. Tasks may range in length from 1 day to 1 month+ responding to frequent priority changes, often working on multiple projects at a time with a mixture of urgent specific short development tasks against longer term tasks.\nProblem solve and improve manual front office workflows /data sharing. Innovate and share learning experiences and explore new techniques and EUC Technologies to solve problems.\nProvide general Microsoft Office expertise and advice to end users.\nEnhance user developed EUC spreadsheets.\nBuild trader pricing tools with appropriate controls for real time multi user operation.\nDevelop complex trade exposure analysis tools.\nDevelop / Support Excel customisations (C# VSTO, Excel DNA).\nImplement and teach best practice.\nEssential Education\nDegree/HND Level in computer science or related subject\nEssential Experience and Job Requirements\nExtensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel 365, including expert level VBA and formulas, inc dynamic array and lambdas.\nGood knowledge of SQL Server including database design, stored procedures.\nStrong knowledge of Co-Pilot/Claude prompting and enthusiasm towards using AI as a development tool.\nExperience developing in an Object Orientated language such as C#, Java, Python (2 years+) with a good knowledge of OO concepts.\nAdvanced data analysis skills in Excel. Experience with PowerBI/Powerquery (5 years+), including a knowledge of writing queries directly in the M formula language including optimisation.\nExperience of working with front-office traders in a commodity trading, or financial trading environment.\nExperience building connections to system APIs and consuming data services.\nExcellent communication skills written and verbal.\nAble to reverse engineer and optimise complex spreadsheet logic. Recover corrupted workbooks.\nAbility to organise and manage often concurrent asks on time (urgent, short term, medium term developments)\nDesirable Criteria\nExperience working with excel in real time data scenarios.\nExperience with Market Data providers, Reuters, Bloomberg, TT, ICE etc\nExperience any of Visual Studio Tools for Office, Excel DNA, Javascript or other Excel Addin development technologies, MS Access, WPF, Azure Dev Ops\nExperience of Python, Jupyter Notebooks.\nHighly responsible, self-motivated, and able to thrive in an energetic, fast paced, high growth environment.
